As a seasoned Clash Royale veteran, I must say that the Phoenix Raid event has been quite a breath of fresh air! The addition of the Phoenix to the gameplay dynamics has certainly spiced things up, and it’s been a thrill figuring out how best to incorporate these feathered beasts into my strategies.
Season 65 of Clash Royale kicked off by presenting the Evo Musketeer and its associated draft event, and we’ve now moved onto the second event for this season: Phoenix Raid. In this event, the fiery legendary birds known as Phoenixes join the fray, appearing randomly behind both you and your opponent’s towers. They soar down the lanes independently, causing destruction to any unit that happens to be in their path.
But like all events and challenges in Clash Royale, figuring out the best deck for it is usually the secret to mastering it. In this guide, we’ve compiled three of the top decks that you might want to try out for the new Phoenix Raid event and secure victory in all your matchups.
Clash Royale Phoenix Raid Event Overview
In the popular game, Clash Royale, the Phoenix Raid event is set to run from November 11th until November 18th. During this period, players need to construct a deck consisting of eight cards and engage in matches within the event arena. This arena shares a similar western/desert theme as the one used during the Evo Musketeer Draft event.
Players must be at
King Level 8 or above
to access this event.
In this version of the game, the match guidelines align with those in the initial game setting, except for a major deviation. A powerful Legendary Card called Phoenix will automatically appear behind both you and your opponent’s Princess Towers. These Phoenixes function as troops on the side they appear, but they don’t require any elixir to be deployed.
At the 10-second mark past the 2 minutes and 50 seconds, the first Phoenix appears for both teams. When the game reaches the double-elixir phase, the number of Phoenixes spawning for each team doubles.
Best Decks for Phoenix Raid Event in Clash Royale
Here are the three best decks for the Phoenix Raid event in Clash Royale:
- Goblinstein Ram Rider Rage
- Hog EQ Firecracker
- Evo Mortar Goblinstein IWiz
You’ll find more information about these decks below.
Goblinstein Ram Rider Rage
Since the introduction of the Goblinstein, there’s been a surge in the use of Bridge Spam decks within Clash Royale. This relatively affordable champion is capable of putting pressure on your opponent’s structures and dealing significant damage to all troops due to its unique ability. In the current Phoenix Raid event, the Goblinstein RamRider Rage combo holds the highest win rate.
You’ll need the following cards for this deck.
Card Name | Elixir Cost |
---|---|
Evo Skeletons | 1 |
Evo Firecracker | 3 |
Rage | 2 |
Cannon | 3 |
Dart Goblin | 3 |
Arrows | 3 |
Ram Rider | 5 |
Goblinstein | 5 |
As a gamer, I’d say this isn’t your typical bridge-spam deck filled with excessive spammy units like the Evo Pekka Bridge Spam. Instead, it’s more about cycling through Ram Riders and Dart Goblins to gradually chip away at the Princess Towers. The Rage spell amplifies the damage we dish out, making our attacks much more potent.
Additionally, you’ll find the Evo Firecracker useful for causing splash damage on towers. Although your deck doesn’t include a heavy spell such as Fireball or Poison for consistent tower damage, the relentless pressure you can apply is usually sufficient to outmaneuver most opponents you face.
When it comes to defense strategies, you’ve got a variety of choices such as the Evo Skeletons, Cannon, or even Goblinstein’s active skill in certain scenarios. Arrows are particularly effective against groups like the Goblin Gang, Goblins, and even the Goblin Spear. Rage can be used to reduce the health of troops by 1 HP such as Skeletons or Bats, and it also boosts your Ram Rider, enabling it to execute its charge.
The Dagger Duchess is the perfect tower troop for this deck.
Hog EQ Firecracker
In the realm of Clash Royale, the Hog Rider card stands out as one of the game’s most recognized figures. Though the 2.6 Hog Cycle deck remains popular, it may not hold the strength it once did, despite the introduction of Evo Musketeer. If you’re fond of this excellent win condition and wish to employ it for the Phoenix Raid event, consider trying out the Hog Rider in combination with Firecracker.
Here are the cards you’ll need for this deck:
Card Name | Elixir Cost |
---|---|
Evo Skeletons | 1 |
Evo Firecracker | 3 |
Ice Spirit | 1 |
The Log | 2 |
Cannon | 3 |
Earthquake | 3 |
Hog Rider | 4 |
Goblinstein | 5 |
In my gaming experience, I can’t help but be thrilled about this signature Hog Rider deck, boasting an impressive average elixir cost of just 2.8! This setup keeps me on the offensive, ensuring a relentless push towards victory. As you might have anticipated, the Hog Rider stands as my main win condition. However, I’ve added a fresh twist to the deck with the inclusion of the formidable Goblinstein, providing an alternative route to breach through my adversary’s defenses!
And let’s not forget the true highlight of this deck: the Evo Firecracker. Whether you have this powerful Evo card in cycle or not, playing your Firecracker smartly allows you to build up tons of damage throughout the match. With the Phoenix’s constantly spawning and gliding down the lane, you’ll be able to get guaranteed chip damage on the tower with your Firecracker.
You’ve got an assortment of affordable defense cards to counter any offensive strategy your opponent might develop. Ice Spirit and Evo Skeletons can serve dual purposes as cheap damage dealers or distractions. The Log and Earthquake provide the necessary control, while the Cannon is particularly effective against Beatdown decks by managing their tanky frontline units.
This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Evo Mortar Goblinstein IWiz
In the game Clash Royale, Mortar decks have consistently shown high victory rates. Unlike the X-Bow, it’s not as pricey in terms of win conditions. With careful placement, a single or two shots from the Mortar can significantly diminish your opponent’s tower’s health. For the Phoenix Raid event, an Evolved Mortar deck coupled with Goblinstein and Ice Wizard could help you amass numerous victories.
Use the following cards for this deck:
Card Name | Elixir Cost |
---|---|
Evo Bats | 2 |
Evo Mortar | 4 |
Goblin Gang | 3 |
Miner | 3 |
Ice Wizard | 3 |
Arrows | 3 |
Cannon Cart | 5 |
Goblinstein | 5 |
In Clash Royale, mortar decks focus more on defense rather than offense. Throughout most of the game, you’ll predominantly focus on reinforcing your defenses and managing your opponent’s attacks while maintaining a steady advantage in elixir. Once you’ve made your opponent use too much elixir, you can then counterattack using your upgraded mortar to inflict significant damage on their tower.
Of course, the biggest weakness of this deck is that it only uses one spell: Arrows. That means if you don’t manage to break through, you’ll have no way to use your spells to win the tiebreaker against your opponent. Then again, both Miner and Goblinstein are great at breaking through the defensive structures and giving you guaranteed tower damage.
Having the Cannon Cart in your hand lets you counter your opponent’s mini-tank that shields their Mortar Shot. The Goblin Gang deals a high amount of damage and can eliminate large troops like the Golem or Goblin Giant, giving you an elixir advantage. Additionally, the Ice Wizard will effectively manage swarms sent by your opponent.
Both Cannoneer and Dagger Duchess work well with this deck.
Tips to Win the Pheonix Raid Event in Clash Royale
As I prepare to sign off, let me share some strategies that might boost your victory count in the latest Clash Royale event:
- Try to take advantage of the Phoenix spawns. Time your push so that you can use the additional Phoenix to support your other cards.
- Don’t forget to defend the Phoenix in the other lane. If left unchecked, it can eat away at your healthy Princess Tower.
- Don’t overspend while attacking. The last thing you want to do is use too much elixir to build a push only to get your tower taken because you don’t have enough elixir to defend.
- Each deck has different timings and strengths. Know when you should be aggressive and when to buckle down for defense.
- Try to defend using cheap cards to build up an elixir lead as you head into the double elixir stage of the game.
As a dedicated gamer, I must say the Phoenix Raid event in Clash Royale is quite intriguing! The decks I’ve suggested can guide you on which cards to pick for your own decks. However, remember to tinker around with various card combinations to discover a deck that truly syncs with your gaming style.
