How to Beat the Forgotten General in Crimson Desert

Okay, so in Crimson Desert, there are these super tough bosses called Overwhelming Beings, and the Forgotten General is one of them. Seriously, the game warns you about these guys because they’re brutal. But don’t worry, we figured out a strategy that helped us take down the Forgotten General really quickly, and we’re sharing it so you can do the same!

This guide will help you get ready to fight the Forgotten General. We’ll cover everything you need to prepare, explain her attacks, and show you how to beat her. Plus, we’ll share a simple trick to win without a difficult fight!

Okay, so before I dive into how we actually beat the Forgotten General, I want to share what gear we were using. Honestly, having the right loadout made a huge difference – we were able to finish the fight in just a few minutes, which was awesome!

Forgotten General Location in Crimson Desert

The Forgotten General can be found inside the General’s Tomb, which is in the furthest northwest point of Pailune.
While you may access this area, you might not find the boss until you complete enough Pailune Faction Quests to get the “Slumbering Soul” quest in the Odeck Tribe.

Prep Before Fighting the Forgotten General

The Forgotten General is an incredibly challenging boss fight, likely one of the toughest you’ll face. To help you prepare, here’s a list of essential items to bring along to make things a bit smoother.

High Attack and Critical Rate Two-Handed Weapons like Vow of the Dead King: Found inside Frostveiled Castle Ruins within the Citadel of the Forgotten King, the Vow of the Dead King is a favorite because it has high Attack and a Critical Rate of Lv 4 when upgraded. Damage and Critical Rate (increased chance to deal double damage) are a must.

High Defense and Ice Resistance Armor, like the Frostcursed Armor: We have a guide on the entire Frostcursed Armor here, but this is also great to have, as it will stop the negative effects of the cold weather when fighting the Forgotten General.

Critical Rate, Stamina Regen, and Focus Regen Abyss Gears: These Abyss Gears on your weapons and armor are more essential than defense. The Forgotten General is going to kill you in three hits regardless of your defense level, so being able to regenerate Stamina and Focus, and have an increased chance to double your damage, is a huge help.

Infinite Arrows III & Infinite Arrows II: These Abyss Gears can be obtained through a random chance with the Witch through the “Special Synthesis” tab in “Craft Abyss Gears”, and are vital for long-range damage and for cheesing the boss.
- Explosive Arrows: Obtained from the Back Alley Shop in Demeniss. Paired with Infinite Arrow Abyss Gears, you can just have one, and it will last forever.
- Evasive Shot: This skill allows you to press Circle twice while aiming to sidestep and spam arrows, which is great for maintaining distance.
- Focused Shot: If you want to try the cheese method, then being able to spam multiple arrows at once with Focused Shot will be a must.

Elemental Turning Slash / Volcanic Eruption: The ability to Imbue Fire (R1+R2 then L2+R2) will ensure you deal maximum stun to the Forgotten General. Considering this boss has an absurdly high health pool, focusing on stun is essential to defeating her. You can get Flame from the Tree of Slumber and Volcanic Eruption from the Scorchflame Plate Gloves.
Hearty Meal Recovery Items & Palmar Pills: You’re going to get injured or die a lot. Hearty Meals that heal plenty of Health and Spirit are a must to stay alive, and if you do die, you need Palmar Pills to make sure the effort wasn’t a waste of time.
