In Life Is Strange: Reunion, you’ll play as both Max and Chloe as they investigate the mysteries surrounding Caledon and Max’s abilities. The story deals with some serious themes, but there are also lighter moments, like when Chloe remembers Max’s birthday and wants to get her a gift. Successfully helping Chloe with this will unlock the ‘Happy Birthday!’ achievement or trophy. This happens over two different scenes in the game, and here’s a guide to help you trigger the event in each one.

How to Give Max a Birthday Present in Life Is Strange: Reunion

In the ‘Overlight’ chapter, you’ll need to name an object you find in Moses’ office. Although the object is actually upstairs, the key to progressing is to first check the calendar by the stairs – Chloe will mention it’s Max’s birthday. Then, go to the other side of the room and examine Moses’ 3D printer, which will prompt Chloe to suggest using it to make a birthday gift for Max.

After you’ve discovered what Moses found, talk to him again. When you get the chance to ask him questions, choose the option about the ‘3D Printer’. This will start a scene where Chloe suggests making a birthday gift for Max, and they’ll begin working on it. Once you’ve chosen that dialogue option, you won’t need to worry about this task again until a later part of the story.

Giving Max Her Birthday Gift in Life Is Strange: Reunion

You’ll give Max her gift during the ‘Champlain Problems’ chapter. After Max and Chloe escape Safi on the boat at the Snapping Turtle, they’ll have a conversation. Eventually, you’ll get the chance to choose the ‘Happy Birthday’ option when playing as Chloe.

Completing this step will result in Chloe giving Max her birthday gift, a little action figure called ‘Super Max’ – she clearly put a lot of thought into it! Once you’ve done this, you’ll unlock the ‘Happy Birthday’ achievement or trophy in Life Is Strange: Reunion.

If you didn’t get this item during your first time playing, you can revisit earlier parts of the game using the ‘Scene Selection’ option on the main menu. Just remember that to keep your progress towards making the gift, you’ll need to continue playing from ‘The Overlight’ chapter before reaching the ‘Champlain Problems’ scene.
