PS Plus Game for April 2026 Just got a Game-Changing Update

I’m so excited for Lords of the Fallen to be a free PlayStation Plus game! And the timing couldn’t be better – the developers just released a huge update that really improves the co-op experience. It’s not just about co-op either; they’ve added a bunch of other cool stuff too. April 2026 is looking like a great month for PS Plus players like me!

This April, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get three new free games: Lords of the Fallen, Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, and a remastered collection of the first three Tomb Raider games. These games will be available to claim on April 7th for all PlayStation Plus members. Don’t forget you can still download last month’s free games, which include Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2, PGA Tour 2K25, and The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road.

Lords of the Fallen Gets Big Co-Op Update Ahead of PS Plus Debut

A new update for Lords of the Fallen has just been released as part of the PlayStation Plus lineup. Version 2.5.338, launched on April 3rd, enhances the game’s co-op experience by allowing guest players more flexibility during online play. It also includes improvements to matchmaking and overall game stability.

After an update in early April 2026, players can now fully cooperate in Lords of the Fallen. In co-op mode, both players can upgrade gear, use socketed items, trade with vendors, rest at Vestiges and teleport between them, use Chrysalis Rebirth, start boss fights, plant Vestige Seeds, and even skip cutscenes. This means the game is much less reliant on the host player’s actions than it used to be. The update also introduces more options for how players collaborate. Hosts can now choose whether guests have full or limited permissions, allowing for either a fully collaborative experience or a more controlled one where the host maintains greater control over progression.

Update 2.5.338 for Lords of the Fallen improves the co-op experience and makes joining sessions easier. Players can now connect with friends by setting a password at a Vestige and choosing the same progression settings. Traditional matchmaking is still available if you prefer not to use a password. This update also resolves several bugs that affected co-op play and overall game performance, including issues with equipping Umbral Eyes and runes during multiplayer. It also includes platform-specific improvements, such as fixing DualSense controller support on the Steam version.

Despite the recent 2.5.338 update, the developers of Lords of the Fallen haven’t finished supporting the game. Hexworks announced on April 3rd that they are continuing to update it, and given their history of updates, another significant patch could arrive by late 2026 or early 2027. Additionally, PlayStation Plus members can get Lords of the Fallen for free from April 6th to May 4th. Work on Lords of the Fallen 2 is also progressing, with a planned release sometime in 2026, though the final title and release date haven’t been announced yet.
