It’s regrettable that GSC hasn’t expanded this feature to platforms like Steam, the Epic Games Store, or GOG yet, which is a disappointment for PC gamers.
Four days ago, a community manager on the official STALKER Discord made it clear that this was indeed true, and surprisingly, this news came as a letdown given the scale of the game.
Many players assumed that the listed system requirements on the Steam page for STALKER 2 were temporary and would be replaced with accurate ones as the game got closer to launch.
As a dedicated gamer, I was taken aback when GSC announced that my hard drive would need a whopping 150GB for STALKER 2, and just last week, they upped the ante to an even more staggering 160GB!
As a dedicated gamer, I can confidently say that the upcoming release of STALKER 2 sets a new standard, surpassing even well-known AAA titans like Call of Duty, which has been trimming down its storage requirements for several iterations now.
Just a heads up: Since major game launches often require significant updates, there’s a good chance you might need to wait an extra hour or more after the initial release to download and install the necessary patches, even if you’ve pre-loaded the game.
