In Crimson Desert, Power Cores are obtained by defeating specific enemies called stone worms and sentient bush monsters, which are found in the Abyss. These creatures are uncommon and only appear in certain areas, making Power Cores harder to find than other resources. However, we’ve identified some reliable locations to find them, and we know a helpful trick to get the specific Power Core you need, saving you from endlessly searching for more Abyss monsters.
Crimson Desert Stone Worm and Bush Monster Locations
The gallery shows three good spots to farm Power Cores. Two are located in Hernand, and the third is on the far eastern side of the Crimson Desert. Each location is near a fast travel point, so be sure to mark those on your map before or after you start farming.
To carry bigger items, such as Power Cores, you’ll need a Kuku Pot. Use Axiom Force to pick them up, and then press the ‘Seal’ button that shows up at the bottom-right of your screen.
How to Beat Stone Worms and Bush Monsters
Although you could try attacking directly, using Force powers is the most effective way to defeat these enemies.
- Shoot stone worm projectiles back at them using Nature’s Snare + Nature’s Retribution.
- Blow the bushes away using Force Palm.
These attacks can instantly defeat enemies, which makes collecting Power Cores much easier. Don’t forget that you can also get Abyss Cells and Abyss Gears by defeating monsters in the bushes.
If a Power Core gets stuck underground, try traveling to a different location to see if it automatically appears in your inventory. If not, visit Carl at Greymanes Camp – he might be able to recover it for you.
Save Scum Farming Trick
When you defeat Stone Worms or large Bush Monsters, they’ll randomly drop a Power Core. We suggest saving your game before fighting them. If they don’t drop the core you need, simply reload your save and try again. While reloading can take a little time, it’s faster than waiting for the monsters to reappear.
Monsters in Crimson Desert reappear after a short time – usually a few in-game days. You can speed up time by sleeping in a bed or resting by a bonfire, but you can only do this once each day.
What are Power Cores for in Crimson Desert?
So, Power Cores are super important if you want to craft Kuku items over at the Kilnden Workshop in Hernand. Basically, each Kuku item needs a specific type of Power Core to make, so you’ll want to grab a bunch of different ones while you’re exploring. Trust me, you don’t want to be stuck missing a core when you’re trying to build something cool!
Kuku crafting offers some of the game’s most powerful upgrades. For example, you can improve armor like the Frostcursed chest piece into Kuku Ice-Resistant Armor, boosting its stats and letting you further enhance it at a smithy. You’ll also find upgraded weapons, backpacks, and ATAGs through Kuku crafting, so it’s worth checking out.
