Escape from Tarkov Devs Reveal How Many Total Players Have Hit Max Prestige

So, the director of Escape From Tarkov just dropped some interesting info – they revealed how many players have actually hit the max Prestige rank. Let me tell you, it’s no easy feat! You’ve gotta grind your PMC to level 47, finish a ton of tough quests, max out your Strength, Endurance, and Charisma, and somehow earn 20 million Roubles. It’s a serious commitment, but apparently, a good number of us have managed to do it!

Reaching the Prestige ranks in Escape From Tarkov is difficult, requiring significant time, skill, and in-game money, so most players won’t achieve it naturally. The Prestige system functions like those in older Call of Duty games: progressing through it resets your progress but unlocks special cosmetic rewards. It’s also only available to players engaged in online PvP, meaning those playing offline or against AI won’t be able to access it.

A Very Small Number of Escape From Tarkov Players Reached Max Rank Prestige

Nikita Buyanov, the director of Escape From Tarkov, shared on Twitter that only 593 players have reached the highest Prestige level (level six). While over 24,500 players have Prestiged at least once, the number of players drops significantly with each level. Despite a challenging initial launch for version 1.0, the game has become more stable thanks to updates from the developers at Battlestate Games. Considering how difficult Tarkov can be, it’s not surprising that so few players have dedicated the time and effort needed to reach Prestige Rank 6.

The benefits of leveling up in Escape From Tarkov’s Prestige system aren’t really aimed at players who just play occasionally. Rewards include things like special dog tags and armbands, a boost to your Charisma skill, unique customization options for your hideout and character, and different backgrounds for the main menu. Importantly, the game has been designed to prevent Prestige players from becoming overwhelmingly powerful. With new content coming in 2026, the developers are making an effort to keep all players on a relatively even playing field, especially when it comes to starting gear.

Battlestate Games appears to be making Escape From Tarkov a bit more accessible. Since the full game launched in November 2025, players have benefited from improvements to matchmaking and several quality-of-life updates. Escape From Tarkov is still a very challenging FPS, but it’s now slightly easier to learn and play. Attracting new players has always been a challenge for the game, so it’s positive that BSG continues to focus on expanding its audience, even ten years after its initial, unfinished release as an early access title.

Battlestate Games is still primarily working on Escape From Tarkov, but its head, Nikita Buyanov, is starting a new project. He recently revealed COR3, a sci-fi shooter planned for early 2026. The game will be set in 2251 on Mars after major cities have been destroyed. Details about COR3 are currently limited, other than its setting and Buyanov’s role, but it’s expected to have some similarities to Escape From Tarkov.
