CDL 2025 Competitive Settings Revealed – Maps, Modes, and Restrictions

As a seasoned Call of Duty esports fan with years of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a bit deflated by the CDL 2025 season settings unveiled recently. The mapset isn’t exactly setting my heart on fire, and the fact that Control still clings to its existence is a mystery to me. It seems like we’re stuck in a time loop, with fans yearning for a resurgence of old maps or a new mode like CTF or Blitz.

Ahead of the 2025 Call of Duty League season, all competitive settings have been revealed. However, the announcement on social media sparked some global controversy among fans, particularly regarding the map selection for the CDL 2025 season. Many find it less than appealing, and there’s a strong sentiment that classic maps might be reintroduced in the future to appease fans.

CDL 2025 Season Settings Unveiled

For the 2025 season of the Call of Duty League, some find the map rotation less than impressive, and there’s a growing curiosity as to why Control mode remains part of the gameplay.

Here’s the spread:

Hardpoint: Protocol, Red Card, Rewind, Skyline, Vault
Search and Destroy: Protocol, Red Card, Rewind, Skyline, Vault
Control: Protocol, Vault

This season, having only two game modes in Control is causing quite a headache for many players, and once again, fans are urgently requesting an alternative mode to take its competitive spot. For years now, there’s been a strong demand for popular modes like Capture the Flag (CTF) or Blitz to reappear on the Call of Duty esports stage, but unfortunately, these requests have yet to be fulfilled.

In a recent guide, the settings proposed by the Call of Duty League are largely similar to last season with only minor tweaks. However, it’s in the restricted items where things become intriguing. During the pre-season, many Gameplay Adjustments (GAs) have been proposed, but the official rules from Activision offer a different perspective.

Typically, maintaining a balance is our priority, so most benefits and sequences have been removed for this occasion. However, the RC-XD and Hellstorm Missiles will still be available as scorestreak options.
