Slopecrashers is a new snowboarding game coming in December

As someone who grew up playing SSX Tricky and the likes on my trusty old PlayStation, hearing about Slopecrashers brings back fond memories of those exhilarating days of extreme snowboarding action. The idea of an arcade-style snowboarder inspired by the greats of yesteryears, with a hint of kart racing charm, has me more than just a little excited.

Byteparrot, the developer, along with Neonhive Games, the publisher, have jointly unveiled their upcoming snowboarding title called Slopecrashers. It’s set to arrive shortly!

Reflecting on the nostalgia of old-school SSX and similar games, this new snowboarding game seems to capture the excitement of those times. The developer describes it as a simple-to-learn, challenging-to-master arcade-style snowboarder, inspired by classic kart racers and previous generations’ snowboarding titles.

Experiencing pure adrenaline, I leap into this game where the physics engine is masterfully crafted for jaw-dropping stunts, crashes, drifts, and glides! Whether you’re holding a snowboard or even a frying pan, join an eccentric gang of cartoon animals, performing insane tricks, conquering absurd courses, and dominating local split-screen and online multiplayer. Plus, the announcement of CAMPAIGN MODE has me pumped up!

In Slopecrashers, experience the thrill of arcade snowboarding like never before as you seamlessly blend stunts, combos, and boosts! The game’s cutting-edge physics engine sets the stage for a one-of-a-kind ride. Accumulate immense speed by stringing together tricks, unlock bonus speedboosts to race ahead, and utilize your glider for breathtaking hang time. Master the moves to earn legendary status – or opt for trickery! Unleash over-the-top combat items, ranging from explosives to swarms of bees, and watch as good guys meet their match at the finish line.

Get ready to race, grandma! This game is perfect for racers of all ages, challenging friends and family in massive multiplayer modes. Just like back in the day, Slopecrashers features four-player local split screen as its core, so select from more than eight customizable cartoon animals (chickens, lemurs, parrots, capybaras… imagine the vet bills!) and go head to head. Paw against paw. Beak against beak? Don’t worry – if you prefer online competition, battle it out in online multiplayer for up to eight players! *dial-up connection sounds*.

The campaign mode is called out in the press release, too:

If you’re aiming to perfect your solo gameplay, embark on an international journey in campaign mode and vanquish a vengeful hamster. Customize your adventure even more by diving into arcade mode and design the ultimate snowboarding competition: explore diverse race types (such as slaloms, battles, stunt shows, and shootouts) across seven distinct worlds, ranging from chilly tundras to exotic jungles and shopping malls. Each world offers two to four unique maps for endless exploration – just remember not to mistake the yellow snow for a snack!!!

Slopecrashers launches December 4th on Steam for $17.99 (with a 15% discount).
