In the Naruto series, the Akatsuki are the main antagonists, with leadership changing throughout the story. They’re famous for being exceptionally strong, capable of challenging even the most powerful ninja leaders, the Kage. Because they’re so formidable, defeating an Akatsuki member is a huge feat. However, the author, Kishimoto, has introduced several powerful ninjas over time who have successfully fought against them, defeating multiple members and becoming legendary figures.

Naruto Uzumaki

Throughout the series, Naruto Uzumaki has battled and defeated several members of the Akatsuki. His first solo victory came against Kakuzu, where he used his newly mastered Rasenshuriken. This powerful technique destroyed two of Kakuzu’s hearts, bringing him to the brink of defeat and demonstrating Naruto’s significant growth as a fighter.

I’ve always been impressed by Sasuke Uchiha – he’s easily one of the strongest characters in Naruto. He ended up fighting several members of the Akatsuki, and his first big battle was against Deidara. It was an amazing fight, really showcasing his intelligence and how skillfully he used his Sharingan.

Sasuke proved his strength by defeating powerful opponents like Deidara and Itachi Uchiha, though each victory came with a significant price. He also played a key role in the Fourth Great Ninja War, teaming up with Naruto to defeat Obito Uchiha. Without a doubt, Sasuke is one of the most skilled ninjas when it comes to battling members of the Akatsuki.

Sakura Haruno

Shikamaru Nara

Obito Uchiha

I remember Obito Uchiha being a really powerful member of the Akatsuki, but surprisingly, he also ended up fighting against them. After the battle with Pain, he went looking for Konan in Amegakure. He wanted Nagato’s body to steal the Rinnegan, but Konan stood in his way, so he had to deal with her first.

I watched as the battle raged – it was unbelievably intense. She really prepared for this fight, revealing some incredible techniques that genuinely surprised both Obito and everyone watching. Even with all that, Obito ultimately defeated Konan, largely thanks to a powerful, forbidden Uchiha jutsu called Izanagi. He did win, but it was a brutal fight, and he was left seriously injured.

Itachi Uchiha

His first encounter with them happened during the mission to rescue Gaara, where he battled Deidara. In this fight, Kakashi revealed his Kamui ability for the first time, even going so far as to sever his own arm. He was left critically injured, and would likely have died from blood loss if the rest of Akatsuki hadn’t found Deidara.

Kakashi was a formidable fighter, notably defeating Kakuzu and destroying two of his hearts. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, he briefly battled and mortally wounded Obito Uchiha with a powerful Chidori. His actions were crucial in saving the world and enabling the sealing of Kaguya Otsutsuki, ultimately leading to his appointment as the Sixth Hokage. He remains a legendary ninja of Konoha to this day.
