ARC Raiders Players Want One Change From March’s Flashpoint Update Reverted

Embark Studios launched a major update for its popular game, ARC Raiders, on March 31st. Called Flashpoint, the update brought a lot of new content like enemies and weapons. However, some changes, particularly to the Rocketeer’s audio, have upset players, and many are asking Embark Studios to undo them.

This week’s update for Flashpoint is the biggest yet for ARC Raiders, introducing a dangerous new map condition and a terrifying new enemy called the Vaporizer. If you haven’t tried the update, the Vaporizer is a hybrid of the Queen and Matriarch enemies, but with the added ability to fly – it’s truly frightening! It attacks with powerful lasers and has a unique attack style, making it one of the game’s most challenging foes, alongside the Shredder and Rocketeer.

ARC Raiders Players Want The Old Rocketeer Noises Back

The Rocketeer, a flying enemy in ARC Raiders, recently received a surprising change. While not detailed in the official update notes for the Flashpoint update, Embark altered the sounds the Rocketeer makes when it spots an enemy, and players are upset. A Reddit post asking Embark to restore the original sounds has gained a lot of traction, demonstrating that many others in the community feel the same way – they want the classic sounds back.

Players have expressed confusion and disappointment with recent audio changes in the game. Many feel that different ARC units should have distinct sounds, but some now sound too alike – specifically, Pops and Fireballs, and Comets and Surveyors. One popular complaint is that the Rocketeer’s iconic sound was replaced with the Vaporiser’s, which players see as a significant mistake. Several users also noted changes to the music in Speranza and are asking the developers at Embark to avoid replacing existing audio and music altogether.

The latest update to the game has been generally positive, despite a few tweaks to the Rocketeer character that weren’t needed. Players are particularly engaged with the new ‘Close Scrutiny’ map condition, which offers the most difficult challenge the game has seen so far, though it might not be the ultimate endgame content fans were hoping for. To access the new ARC Assessor – marked by a red laser in the sky – players can earn valuable ARC loot. However, entering the Assessor triggers waves of tough enemies like Vaporizers, Rocketeers, Wasps, and Hornets. It’s a difficult task, but successful players have a chance to unlock a new weapon blueprint.

Now that the Flashpoint update is complete, players are eagerly awaiting details about the Riven Tides update, planned for release later in April. Embark Studios announced Riven Tides earlier this year as part of their long-term plan for ARC Raiders, and it will introduce a new map and a powerful new enemy. The last major content drop, the Northline update shortly after launch, also included a new map and a large enemy – the Matriarch and Stella Montis.
