Microsoft Apologises for Flight Simulator 2024 Server Issues

As a dedicated flight simulator enthusiast with countless hours logged in the skies, I must say, I was overjoyed at the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. However, my excitement was quickly dampened by the unexpected login issues that plagued the first day. Despite knowing the anticipation was high, it appears Microsoft underestimated the magnitude, which is akin to expecting a small flock of birds and getting hit by a migratory wave instead!

Microsoft has expressed their apologies to those experiencing login troubles during the debut of Flight Simulator 2024.

During a video posted on their official YouTube channel, titled “Developer Launch Day Update,” Jorg Neumann, who leads Microsoft Flight Simulator, offered an apology.

Initially, we thought the anticipation for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was significant, but to be honest, we significantly underestimated its magnitude. It’s turned out to be far greater than we expected, and it’s caused quite a strain on our systems,” he admitted.

Later on, he added, “Indeed, the launch went extremely well, but we understand that many are disappointed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. This video was designed to be open and truthful about our actions.

During a detailed discussion, Asobo’s Sebastian Wloch mentioned that their team had conducted tests with around 200,000 simultaneous players. However, the number of players on the game’s release day surpassed this limit.

He stated, “We’re giving our all and moving as quickly as possible to ensure everyone gets in. However, even those who manage to join might discover that certain items, like specific aircraft, are absent. This is linked to the same server problems, as explained by Wloch.
