Stalker 2 | How to remove and pass an anomaly

As a seasoned gamer who’s survived countless apocalypses and traversed through the darkest corners of gaming worlds, I can confidently say that Stalker 2 has finally brought the thrill back into my life. The radiated Exclusion Zone is a terrifying beauty, teeming with danger at every step.

In the long-awaited release of Stalker 2, you’ll find yourself immersed in the irradiated Exclusion Zone, where survival is paramount. Alongside dangerous humans and mutated beasts, you’ll encounter enigmatic energy blobs known as anomalies. These energy masses can prove lethal if you get too near; they’ll swiftly pull you in, ending your life instantly. Even if you narrowly escape their grasp at the last second, they’ll still drain a significant portion of your vital energy. Navigating these tricky situations is crucial in Stalker 2. If you’re struggling, we’ve prepared a concise guide to help you understand the intricacies of anomalies and learn how to bypass them in Stalker 2.

Listen to your scanner

In Stalker 2, when you’re approaching an anomaly, your scanner will emit a beeping sound that speeds up as you get closer. The wisest action is to pause and examine your surroundings for any unusual air distortions. These can be hard to spot, especially during poor weather conditions. Since they might blend in with the environment, look for anything that appears out of place, such as large water droplets. Keep a watchful eye on the distance and check if there’s anything that seems abnormal.

If you take a close look at the heart of the picture, you’ll see that the trees appear somewhat out of focus. Such distortions become apparent when one is near an anomaly.

Throw a bolt, wait for a reaction

In Stalker 2, following some time, you’ll find yourself with the ability to hurl a bolt at an anomaly when surrounded by several of them. Although the instructions aren’t very clear, this is your best bet for escaping their presence. To do so, aim and throw the bolt at an anomaly, waiting for it to undergo a visual change, similar to a flicker. Once it disappears, swiftly move through the location it previously occupied as they will reappear again within five to ten seconds. Keep in mind that if there are multiple anomalies present, you’ll need to take out a few of them in the direction you intend to go, as even removing one may not prevent others nearby from pulling you in.

Basically, be fast. Throw that bolt to reveal it, then run like mad. You’ve got this, Stalker!
