As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I’ve always loved how creative the fights are! Sure, everyone knows the Kamehameha and the Special Beam Cannon, but what really makes Dragon Ball special is the sheer variety of ki blasts and physical attacks they come up with. It’s not just about the big ones – it’s all the unique techniques that stick with you!
Throughout the Dragon Ball series, characters use a wide variety of ki attacks, ranging from simple blasts to more complex techniques like Kiais. Both the heroes, like Goku, and the villains have access to incredibly powerful moves they can use in battle. Here are some of the fastest and most devastating of these techniques.
Kamehameha Barrage
Dragon Ball features many different versions of the Kamehameha, but the Kamehameha Barrage doesn’t get much attention. Goku only used it while training in high gravity, which is unfortunate because it could have been a powerful ability during the battle on Namek.
The Kamehameha Barrage is a powerful technique that combines elements of both the Bending Kamehameha and the Continuous Kamehameha. It allows Goku to fire off several energy waves at once, and he can even curve their paths mid-flight, just like with the Bending Kamehameha. While it’s appeared in a few video games, this variation of the Kamehameha isn’t very well-known outside of those appearances.
Hellzone Grenade
Piccolo is known for his powerful and iconic moves, ranking among the best alongside Goku and Vegeta. While his Special Beam Cannon is his most famous attack, the Hellzone Grenade is almost as recognizable and effective.
I remember Piccolo first using this attack against Android 17, and he brought it back during the Tournament of Power in Super. Basically, he throws a whole bunch of energy balls at his opponent, completely surrounding them, and then they all blast forward at once. It looks incredibly powerful, but honestly, it hasn’t really made a huge difference in a fight so far.
Gigantic Blast
Kefla had some great fights during the Tournament of Power, demonstrating the incredible power that came from fusing Kale and Caulifla. Even though Goku gave her a tough battle, she proved herself to be one of the strongest fusion characters in the series with her impressive abilities.
Gigantic Blast is one of Kefla’s signature moves, where she fires a barrage of energy spheres at her opponent. She used it frequently against Goku, but it wasn’t powerful enough to give her the advantage.
Great Death Beam
Frieza is famous for his Death Beam, a straightforward but powerful energy blast that’s usually fatal to anyone hit by it. Currently, his strongest version appears to be the Great Death Beam, though Black Frieza might develop an even more powerful one in the future.
This attack is a more advanced version of Frieza’s Death Beam, building on previous iterations. Unlike the original, it’s much more flexible: Frieza can fire beams from each of his fingers, and each beam can independently track, pierce through, and continue damaging its target.
Human Extinction Attack
Super Buu was a remarkably unpredictable and dangerous villain. He repeatedly proved to be a unique threat to Earth, and his Human Extinction Attack was the most terrifying example of his power.
I watched as Buu prepared a truly terrifying attack – one that wasn’t about destroying the planet, but wiping out everyone on it. He raised his hand and unleashed a barrage of incredibly powerful energy beams. It was meant to eliminate all humans on Earth, and only the most skilled fighters managed to narrowly avoid being hit.
Blades of Judgement
Fused Zamasu was an incredibly powerful enemy who pushed Goku and Vegeta to their absolute limits, arguably more than any other villain in the series. His ‘Blades of Judgement’ attack perfectly demonstrates just how strong he was.

Fused Zamasu attacks by generating numerous energy blades from the halo on his back and firing them at his opponent. These blades can slice through anything they hit, and even if they miss, they detonate on impact with the ground, causing significant destruction.
Multi Sphere of Destruction
Beerus is still stronger than Goku and Vegeta, acting as a benchmark they strive to overcome and inspiring them to become more powerful. While all of his attacks are incredibly dangerous, his Multi Sphere of Destruction is especially fearsome.
Beerus begins his assault by generating numerous Destruction Spheres and powerfully kicking them at his opponent, each capable of causing immense damage. He previously used this attack against Super Saiyan God Goku, but Goku managed to obliterate the spheres with a powerful Kamehameha. For most other fighters, a direct hit from Beerus’ Multi Sphere of Destruction would almost certainly be fatal.
