How To Get The Tough Cookie Personalitiy In The Test In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Dragon Quest 3 Remake has taken me back to my roots. The nostalgia is palpable, and the personality test at the beginning of the game adds an exciting new twist to the classic RPG formula.

At the onset of your journey in the revamped version of Dragon Quest 3, you’ll encounter a character assessment to establish the initial personality of your protagonist. This personality trait influences the growth rate of your stats, so selecting the appropriate one from the get-go is crucial as it significantly impacts your gameplay experience.

If you decide to adjust your persona at a later stage, it’s simpler to secure the desired character by taking advantage of the personality test, provided you understand the steps. The Tough Cookie personality is worth considering as an alternative to Vamp, and I’ll show you how to acquire it.

How To Get The Tough Cookie Personality In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

The Tough Cookie personality is earned through the boulder-pushing test, and to get to that you’ll need to answer the starting questions as such:

QuestionAnswer
Do you believe that the sun in the sky above is the king of all nature….?Yes
Do you dream often…?No
Do you prefer spells and sorcery to swords and sweat…?No
Do you find the company of unfamiliar people tiresome…?No
Are you able to prevent failure from preying upon your mind…?No
Is your circle of acquaintances wide and varied…?Yes
Do you pay much heed to the gossip of others…?Yes
Do you believe the world to be filled more with sadness than with joy…?Yes

In your journey, you’ll encounter a situation where you need to locate a large stone (boulder) and return it to an elderly man forty times by following these steps: As you exit the forest, head left and you’ll find the boulder. Position yourself on its left side, then either run or walk towards it to start pushing it. Push the stone back to the old man, and he will express gratitude and reward you with ten gold coins.

This is not real gold and does not transfer outside of the forest.

Once you’ve delivered 40 boulders to the old man, he will no longer summon more, allowing you to bypass the conversation and run back and forth more efficiently. After delivering all 40 boulders, continue running left to exit the forest and acquire the Tough Cookie Personality.
