STALKER 2 x The Division 2 Collab Explained

As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours navigating through post-apocalyptic worlds and battling against hostile factions, I must admit that the collaboration between The Division 2 and STALKER 2 has piqued my interest significantly. Having played both games, it’s fascinating to see the subtle links between them, especially with the recent addition of STALKER-inspired outfits in The Division 2.

Initially launched back in March 2019, the game “The Division 2” continues to thrive, having recently rolled out its Year 6 Season 2 update. Although the fundamental gameplay has remained consistent throughout these years, “The Division 2” has undergone numerous significant updates, with some of the most notable ones introducing new raids and game modes. However, updates in “The Division 2” are commonplace, but crossovers are relatively scarce, which makes its recent collaboration with “STALKER 2” all the more intriguing.

After more than a decade of anticipation, it’s finally here – my hands are on STALKER 2! This gripping survival game is set in the Exclusion Zone surrounding Chernobyl, sharing some broad similarities with The Division 2, and I must say, their latest update has introduced some intriguing crossover content that acknowledges the subtle connections between these two captivating series.

The Division 2’s STALKER 2 Apparel Bundle Explained

The Division 2 Has Added Three Outfits Inspired By STALKER 2

Starting from November 19, “The Division 2” has introduced a clothing pack reminiscent of the “STALKER” series. This package includes three distinctive outfits that originate from the universe of “STALKER”, which can also be worn in the original game “STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl”. These same outfits are featured in the recently launched sequel, “STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

The Monolith Garb symbolically connects to the fanatical sect in STALKER known as the Monolith faction, a group that worships a puzzling relic found at the Zone’s core, believed to grant wishes. Meanwhile, the Sunrise Outfit is one of STALKER’s most recognized costumes, often donned by members of the Loner faction and the game’s protagonists, scavengers, or explorers. Lastly, the SEVA-D Attire represents a valuable protective suit from STALKER, famed for its ability to withstand both the Zone’s harmful conditions and gunfire.

Amidst the chaos of a pandemic that’s wreaked havoc on the capital state of the US, The Division 2 shares a striking resemblance to STALKER 2 in its setting, as players navigate a ruined landscape and battle various factions for survival. Given this parallel, the new STALKER skins seamlessly fit into the multiplayer universe of Ubisoft’s The Division 2.

The Division 2’s STALKER 2 Bundle Costs 3000 Credits

However, it’s important to note that while The Division 2’s STALKER bundle offers three unique skins, the cost could be a deterrent for some players. To acquire these skins, you would need 3000 Credits, which equates to approximately $30. For certain fans, this high price tag might make the STALKER bundle seem less like a festive addition and more like an attempt to cash in on the buzz surrounding the upcoming launch of STALKER 2.

Although The Division 2 has been around for more than five years and has competed with games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, it’s quite surprising that it hasn’t had many pop-culture collaborations up until now. The initial crossover event occurred in June 2021 when The Division 2 teamed up with Resident Evil for its 25th anniversary celebration. This collaboration provided a variety of premium skins priced in Credits, but players also received a free Leon Kennedy R.P.D. outfit as part of the deal.

The game The Division 2 had only one other collaboration previously, which was with Splinter Cell way back in June 2023. In this event, players could acquire a Sam Fisher costume if they purchased the Season Pass.

It would have been a pleasant touch if they had implemented a similar strategy with The Division 2, offering players one costume for free to commemorate the release of STALKER 2, followed by charging Credits for additional costumes.
