As a seasoned RPG veteran with countless hours spent navigating pixelated landscapes and slaying fearsome dragons, I must say, the Night Light in Dragon Quest 3 Remake has been one of my most intriguing discoveries yet!
In the initial stages of the Dragon Quest 3 Remake, the first few hours are spent discovering the game’s primary continents. Upon acquiring the Black Pepper, players will then gain their own ship, leading to an expansion of the map as they hunt for the scattered orbs across the world.
Although you primarily explore the orbs, it’s worth noting there are numerous other fascinating locations to discover, as well as special items to uncover. One such item is the Night Light, which enables players to switch the overworld to nighttime at their discretion. Here’s a guide on how to locate it.
Where To Get The Night Light In Dragon Quest 3 Remake
In the city of Theddon, situated southward from Portoga, you’ll discover The Night Light following your sea voyage. To reach there, depart from Portoga, sail westward until you encounter the open sea, then steer southwards until you hit the southernmost point of the continent that lies on the southern edge. If you approach from the western side of the continent, you can dock anywhere and walk towards the town.
To acquire the Night Light, it must be done during the daytime. If you arrive at night, I recommend staying at the Inn first to alter the time of day. Once it’s daytime, make your way to the blacksmith store and climb behind the counter, then ascend the stairs. On the second floor, you’ll come across a skeleton in a bed and a chest nearby. The Night Light can be found inside this chest.
Prior to departing from Theddon, make sure to explore it both at night and during the day, because its tale is distinct – the residents are absent during the daylight hours.
How To Use The Night Light In Dragon Quest 3 Remake
As a gamer, I found myself needing to clear some space in my character’s inventory. So, I decided to move that Night Light to the very end, since it doesn’t seem to be of much use while I’m playing.
- Use the Light during the day to make it nighttime.
- The Light only makes nighttime and can’t change nighttime to daytime.
- The Light can only be used when in the overworld, not while in towns or dungeons.
To switch back to daytime in the Monster Arena, you can either spend the night at an inn or simply wait a while for the game to automatically transition on its own.
