The new week is here, and with it comes a fresh set of Trials challenges for ARC Raiders players, offering opportunities to earn more rewards. Every Monday, the game’s developer, Embark Studios, introduces these optional objectives. While some challenges can feel similar to past ones, Embark is cleverly using the recently added ARC enemy to create what many players are finding to be the most difficult Trial challenge yet.
In the extraction shooter ARC Raiders, getting powerful gear is key to success. You can find the best loot by venturing ‘Topside,’ defeating other players (Raiders), and exploring the game’s maps. There’s also a system called Trials, which some players find frustrating. Every week, five new challenges are added, each rated with a star system. You earn between one and three stars based on how well you do. One star gets you a common item, two stars a rare item, and three stars an epic item. Plus, players can compete on a seasonal leaderboard, with top rankings earning even bigger rewards at the end of each season.
ARC Raiders Reveals New Trials for April 6 – 12
From April 6th to 12th, players can tackle a fresh set of challenges in ARC Raiders. Most of these are fairly simple β things like damaging Wasps, finding Raider Caches, hitting ARC enemies in Old Town (Buried City), and disarming mines during the Locked Gate event on Blue Gate. But one challenge stands out as particularly difficult. It asks players to damage the Vaporizer, a new enemy that many are calling the most powerful addition to the game so far.
The latest update for ARC Raiders, called Flashpoint, launched on March 31st and brought significant changes to the game. Players now have access to two new weapons and a challenging new map condition, alongside improvements to the popular Scrappy character. The biggest addition, however, is the Vaporizer β a powerful new enemy that combines the abilities of the Queen and Matriarch. This flying enemy uses laser attacks and has a shield, making it a tough opponent. Currently exclusive to the ‘Close Scrutiny’ map condition, the Vaporizer is already considered more challenging than the Rocketeer and is now a key target in the latest Trials challenges.
The latest challenge in ARC Raiders is proving to be tough, though not the weirdest one yet. Players often complain that the game’s challenges can feel repetitive. To address this, the developers recently added a Trial requiring players to get struck by lightning. This meant venturing into the Electromagnetic Storm and intentionally getting hit. The response was largely negative, with many players calling it unfun and one user stating it perfectly represents the issues with the Trial system overall.

I’m getting really hyped for the next ARC Raiders update, Riven Tides! It sounds like Embark is adding a brand new, massive ARC enemy, and honestly, I’m expecting something along the lines of the Queen or Matriarch in terms of scale. But the developers have said players are beating the current big ARCs too easily, so I have a feeling this new one is going to be a serious challenge. They’re definitely planning to crank up the difficulty, and I’m here for it!
