Rumor: Halo Campaign Evolved is ‘Pretty Much’ Content Complete

It looks like Halo: Campaign Evolved could be released sooner than expected. Although fans have been waiting for news from Microsoft, recent information indicates the game is almost finished, which is a good sign for a 2026 release.

So, they’re completely rebuilding the original Halo: Combat Evolved – the game that started it all back in 2001! The team, now called Halo Studios, is actually using a lot of the stuff they built for Halo Infinite, but they’re making sure it still looks like the original, just updated for today’s graphics. Now that the game is nearly finished, everyone’s wondering when it will be released. We expect to learn the official release date at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th. While nothing is confirmed, many believe Microsoft is planning a summer launch, perhaps in July or August, to avoid competition with other big games coming out in the fall. Some rumors suggest they also want to release it before Grand Theft Auto 6 comes out. If the game is truly content complete, the remaining development time will likely focus on refining the experience and fixing any bugs, rather than adding new content.
