Disney Dreamlight Valley Teases Star Wars Update

Gameloft, the team behind Disney Dreamlight Valley, appears to be hinting at an upcoming update centered around Star Wars. Since its early access release in 2022, the game has included characters and themes from many Disney and Pixar favorites, including classics like Lady and the Tramp and newer movies like Inside Out. Disney Dreamlight Valley has become popular thanks to its consistent flow of fresh content.

After receiving consistent updates for years, Disney Dreamlight Valley is great whether you have a few minutes or a long stretch of time to play. Unlike many games, it’s satisfying even in short bursts – you can quickly help a neighbor or complete a few challenges. This is common with life simulation games, but Dreamlight Valley does it particularly well.

Star Wars Content in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The official Disney Dreamlight Valley Twitter account recently posted a mysterious message saying “a galaxy of fun is headed your way,” along with emojis of the Milky Way, a lightning bolt, a robot, and a shooting star. Most players interpret this as a hint that Star Wars content is coming to the game soon. Dreamlight Valley did receive Star Wars items last year, but they were only available through the premium shop. These included a companion R2-D2, character customization options, and a house themed after Naboo.

With The Mandalorian and Grogu coming to cinemas on May 22nd, fans are wondering if Disney Dreamlight Valley will soon get more Star Wars content. This could happen through a special event or a larger update that adds a new area and characters to the game. The game’s recent plans show an update based on Hercules is coming this summer, and since nothing is scheduled after that, a Star Wars update could follow. A new area and in-game progression system themed around the franchise would be a huge addition, but it’s currently unclear if the developers are planning something like that.

While Mando and Grogu seem like the most obvious choices, many Star Wars characters could be great additions to Dreamlight Valley. Characters like Wicket the Ewok, C-3PO, and even Jar Jar Binks would be a good fit, bringing something fresh to the game. The developers have already shown they can create compelling characters, even villains like Scar, within the game’s world. It would be interesting to see a complex character like Ben Solo interact with classic Disney characters such as Buzz and Woody.

Gameloft hasn’t announced a specific date for new Star Wars content in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but it likely won’t be available until May. With a new Star Wars movie coming out and Star Wars Day on May 4th, it’s unlikely anything will be released before then. In the meantime, players will have plenty to do, as Pocahontas is joining the game on April 8th.
