They accidentally picked it up while solving a puzzle in the Abyss, not realizing it was meant to be obtained later during the ‘Light of Tariv’ questline. Specifically, the quest ‘Fragment of Life’ requires players to find the Fruit of Life from the Brothertree. If you already took the item, the game won’t let you get it again, which breaks the quest and prevents you from progressing to the next quest, ‘Reawakened Light’.
Several players in the discussion said they’d already tried taking the Fruit of Life. Most suggested restarting their game if it wouldn’t set them back too far. Others noted that Crimson Desert sometimes penalizes players for exploring, unintentionally causing issues with the game. This is especially annoying in an open-world game where players are meant to be rewarded for their curiosity.
PC players who are stuck on the ‘Light of Tariv’ quest may be able to fix the problem using mods and a save editor. This allows them to mark the quest as finished, letting them continue playing, though it bypasses the intended gameplay experience.
