PlayStation has launched a new program called ‘The Playerbase’ that will give one fan the unique opportunity to collaborate with a PlayStation studio and even see themselves featured in a game. They’re starting with the racing game Gran Turismo 7, and plan to potentially include other PlayStation-developed games in the future.
PlayStation recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a year full of special events and activities for its fans. These included limited-edition consoles and several PlayStation-themed playlists released on Spotify. Now, with the new Playerbase program, PlayStation aims to further connect its dedicated fans with the PlayStation world.
The Playerbase Will Let One Fan Step Into the World of Gran Turismo 7
According to Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at SIE, PlayStation is offering a special experience for its most dedicated fans. They can have their image scanned and become a character within a PlayStation game, starting with Gran Turismo 7.
One lucky Gran Turismo 7 fan will have their likeness featured as a character in the game. They’ll also get a trip to a PlayStation studio in Los Angeles to work with a designer on a custom logo and paint scheme for their car. While the character appearance will be temporary, the logo and paint scheme will be available in the game’s Showcase section forever.
Okay, so I just found out about this amazing contest! If you’re over 18 and live in a participating country, you can enter for a chance to win! You just need to go to the PlayStation Playerbase website and sign in with your PlayStation account. Then, you’ll have to fill out a short form where you share a favorite memory you have with PlayStation – something that really shows how much you love the brand. They’ll be picking winners based on how original your story is and how much you’ve actually engaged with PlayStation over the years – things like what consoles you own, if you have PlayStation Plus, what games you play, and even how many hours you’ve spent gaming!

After a first round of selection, chosen participants will be invited to a video interview to share their experiences with PlayStation and Gran Turismo 7. Interviewers will be looking for genuine enthusiasm for the brand, as well as how well their story could be turned into engaging content. One lucky winner, selected around Summer 2026, will then be featured in Gran Turismo 7 through a game update expected later this year. This program currently focuses on Gran Turismo 7, but PlayStation has indicated they may include other games from their studios in the future.
