The speculation started when Shaun Escayg, creative director at Naughty Dog, shared a photo on Instagram of a cannon from Fort George in Trinidad and Tobago, labeling it as research. Fans immediately wondered if this was a hint at a new Uncharted game. Henderson explained that Naughty Dog had actually begun some preliminary planning for Uncharted 5 before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted those efforts.
Rumors are swirling, and a recent comment from Vinit Agarwal, reported by Tech4Gamers, has added fuel to the fire. Agarwal, who worked on the canceled Last of Us multiplayer game, shared that Naughty Dog was working on two single-player games when that project was scrapped. One of those games is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The other remains a mystery, but many believe it could be a new Uncharted game, as the series hasn’t seen a release since 2017.
