Crimson Desert Players Find a Major Flaw with the Endgame

Players of the new action game Crimson Desert have discovered a major problem with what happens after completing the main story. The game, developed by Pearl Abyss, was highly anticipated and released in March to a lot of excitement. While Crimson Desert sold 3 million copies in its first weekend, early reviews were mixed. Players found issues as they advanced in the game that negatively affected their enjoyment and the overall experience.

Player feedback highlighted problems with exploring the large open world of Crimson Desert. Some felt the expansive universe distracted from the main story, with side quests making it hard to stay focused on Kliff’s objectives. The game’s length and emphasis on exploration also required players who prefer quicker gameplay to adjust their approach. The developers have since fixed control issues that were reported by a large number of players.

Flaw With Crimson Desert’s Endgame

Players of Crimson Desert have recently found a problem with the late-game experience. A player named GullibleTerm3909 shared on the game’s subreddit that after over 100 hours of gameplay, companions Damiane and Oongka don’t feel useful. By the time you’ve leveled them up, there aren’t many enemies left to fight. This highlights a bigger issue: a lack of combat opportunities later in the game, which stops players from fully using all characters and enjoying the combat system, and also makes completing challenges difficult.

So, I made a post about some frustrating issues I was running into in the game, and it really blew up! A bunch of other players chimed in saying they’d dealt with the same stuff and had some cool ideas for fixes. I was thinking maybe they could add a respawn system like in Oblivion or Dragon’s Dogma, or even just give enemies fixed locations like they do in Black Desert. But a lot of people thought a nemesis system – where you make dynamic rivals – would fit the open world better. Others suggested adding full-on war mechanics, like letting enemies try to take back forts in a Kingdom/Invasion mode. It was awesome seeing so many different ideas!

With over 70 bosses to fight in Crimson Desert, mastering combat and character development is crucial. While the developers aimed for a fast-paced system with character switching, some players have expressed disappointment with the current implementation. Beyond concerns about limited combat options, some fans also feel the character Damiane could have been a more compelling protagonist than Kliff.
