Although many inhabitants of the Zone will attack immediately, avoiding confrontation and striking first when possible can help prevent unwanted conflicts. It’s during these instances where stealth takedowns prove particularly useful.
Sneaky takedowns are a staple in any immersive sim with stealth elements, and here, you can silence enemies all sneaky-beaky like with your knife for as much as you want. Stealth takedowns are very handy when playing on Stalker 2’s highest difficulty, and it’s something every player should know how to do.
How to Stealth Kill in Stalker 2
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share an exciting tip about Skif’s weapon. It’s not just for smashing crates and planks. In case you ever find yourself in a predicament where avoiding a full-scale battle with an enemy camp seems appealing, you can quietly approach an enemy, draw your knife, and press the Fire key to perform a silent assassination. Always wait for Skif to lift his knife before striking. If you don’t, he’ll execute a regular knife attack that has a relatively low probability of instantly eliminating an enemy.
Animations for knife takedowns take a little while to finish, so make sure there are no enemies nearby, or the ones that are close are looking away. Keep in mind that you can pick bodies up and hide them somewhere if you don’t want to alert other enemies. Keep in mind that this won’t work on mutants like Poltergeists.
In the game ‘Stalker 2’, stealth can sometimes be tricky. If there’s an obstacle separating you and your enemies, it’s relatively easy to stay hidden from them. However, if you venture out into the open while they are facing roughly in your direction, there’s a high likelihood that they will spot you. Therefore, stealth attacks work most effectively in confined, linear areas like the underground facility beneath the Dome in the Lesser Zone.
Where to Find Silenced Weapons

You might come across silenced guns in specific caches or as rewards for completing certain tasks.
In addition to stashes, suppressors could also be purchased from certain vendors. In your inventory at the start of the game, there’s a pistol suppressor for the PTM pistol. During the quest “Dangerous Visitors” in Stalker 2, enter the building where Gloomy resides. Proceed to the end of the second floor and you’ll find a stash. Inside this stash, you’ll discover a Viper-5, some useful items, and a silencer that can be attached to Skif’s service pistol.
In Stalker 2, silencers don’t get damaged or negatively affect your weapon’s performance significantly. Feel free to equip them, and remember to focus on shooting for headshots to ensure swift takedowns.
