STALKER 2: No Honor Among Thieves Walkthrough

STALKER 2: No Honor Among Thieves Walkthrough

In this mission, you have the option to either let Docent live or kill him and take the cargo. Letting Docent live will earn you some disfavor with Shah, one of letting Docent live is that he’ll forget this.

In the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, many side missions offer players a chance to acquire additional items, unique weapons, and vouchers. The mission named “No Honor Among Thieves” poses a tough decision for the players, and whichever path they choose, it could lead to severe repercussions if not handled cautiously.

Initially, let’s focus on how to initiate this Mission. Later, we’ll delve deeper into a comprehensive guide, breaking it down step by step, to ensure players don’t overlook any potential rewards. To kick off this sub-quest, players should journey to the Slag Heap, located in the Garbage Pile region. There, they will need to converse with one of the vendors to set this secondary task in motion.

How To Start No Honor Among Thieves In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart Of Chornobyl

Players, as they progress through their journey guided by the primary objective, may eventually find themselves in the Garbage Pile region. This area houses a notorious spot known as the Slag Heap, which teems with dangerous characters like bandits, Stalkers, and other undesirables. Among these unsavory individuals is an NPC named Huron, who operates as a local vendor.

By taking on this mission, players embark on “No Honor Among Thieves,” a journey that commences northward from the Slag Heap. Their objective is to locate the vanished Brood Bandits who were supposed to deliver a package to Huron. However, a straightforward route guided by the objective marker won’t suffice in this case. Instead, players must navigate through intricate jumping puzzles to uncover the mystery behind Huron’s missing package.

How To Find The Brood Bandits

To fulfill Huron’s demand, Skiff has to locate a band of Brood Factions within S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart Of Chornobyl. It appears they’ve taken refuge in a shack near the specified location. However, upon arrival at that spot, players won’t be able to enter the building. Here’s a suggested approach:

  1. Turn around and search in the backyard of the building for an excavator breaking into the rooftop of the building, and follow it until they reach a couple of rusty containers.
  2. Look around the containers for a spot with some crates, and break them with the knife to enter.
  3. Make your way through the crates, climb on top of the containers, and then jump to the excavator.
  4. Follow the excavator’s arm until you reach the building’s roof, then drop inside the house.

Currently, players should search for relevant hints. Begin by examining the corpses near the rooftop entrance, followed by the walkie-talkie emitting static on the table. Afterward, inspect the bodies in the rear room to find a PDA containing the details required to pinpoint the counterpart associated with this unsuccessful “delivery.

It appears that Huron’s package has fallen into the hands of a competing group as they attacked our couriers. We need to retrieve it now. Follow the guide to get to the next area, and let’s make sure we’re armed and ready, since it looks like we’ll be engaging in a firefight.

Should You Let Docent Live, Or Kill Him And Take The Cargo?

As they follow the guide, players will eventually come across a deserted factory that now serves as a hideout for some unscrupulous gang members. In all, there are seven adversaries to be found here: two are stationed on the left side of the structure, two more are on the right side, another pair is patrolling the walkways encircling the building, and one is perched menacingly on the rooftop, acting as a sniper.

It’s best if players first focus on neutralizing the guards stationed at both sides before moving on to the rest. Using a rifle with a scope such as Valik Lummox’s AKM-74S would be most effective in this situation. After eliminating the enemies on the flanks, seek cover behind trees or dilapidated structures, but be cautious because adversaries positioned along the building walls might hurl grenades, and to add to the difficulty, a sniper will capitalize on this opportunity to hit precise shots at Skiff.

Bleeding can be a problem, so players should make sure to carry enough Bandages or Military Med-Kits to heal if the bandits land some shots on them. After dealing with the enemies on the floor, aim for the sidewalk goons, and then the sniper on the roof.

As a passionate player, I always keep in mind that each well-placed bullet can make a difference, but nothing compares to the devastating impact of a headshot. I strategically wait for my opponents to cry out for recharge or seek cover while they’re recharging. This momentary pause often presents an excellent opportunity to take out several enemies before they regroup and continue their onslaught.

Following the confrontation with adversaries, players ought to scavenge all available resources, subsequently jump on crates located at the front of the structure to access the sidewalks and gain entry into the building via a narrow entrance. Once outside, they should search for an access point to the office where Docent, the bandit’s leader, is hiding out.

Investigate another pathway that ascends towards the upper level of the Factory office via the adjacent sidewalk, then leap into the hole. A scene will start right away, placing you in a situation where you’ll need to make a choice:

If players opt for the initial selection (the one with the apparent reward), they will ensure Docent’s survival, however, this decision might antagonize one of the Faction Leaders (Shah). Furthermore, Docent discloses the location of a unique weapon transported from the Mainland to Skiff. This location, known as a “Stash,” is situated on the Northern side of the Slag Heap; we’ll revisit this matter later. Another significant implication is Docent’s caution about not bringing the Weapon to the Brood Bar, as Shah’s men or the leader of the Brood Bandits might hold the players responsible for any complications that arise, potentially leading to unfavorable outcomes.

It’s strongly advised that players accept the offer from Docent, as accepting it will not only accelerate their progress towards a showdown with Shah and his associates (which is inevitable due to the main quest), but also grant them an exceptional reward. Furthermore, this choice will unlock an exciting achievement/trophy called “Your Move!”, which requires locating a one-of-a-kind weapon specifically designed for a crime boss.

Should players choose aggression towards Docent and opt for his elimination, they can still acquire the Cargo. However, this action will bar them from pursuing Shah’s Stash and the Shah’s Mate SMG. Consequently, after securing the Cargo, the focus should shift to completing the Delivery and wrapping up the Quest. If players accept Docent’s proposal instead, we can guide them through locating the Unique Weapon.

Where To Find Shah’s Mate Unique Weapon In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart Of Chornobyl

Initially, gamers should finish “No Honor Among Thieves” as doing so won’t prevent them from obtaining additional rewards like Shah’s Mate Unique SMG. Then, return to the Slag Heap and converse with Huron to fulfill his task. Once these tasks are accomplished, they can proceed to claim a delightful special reward.

Head north beyond “The Labyrinth” area, then continue a short distance more to the north and eventually west. You’ll cross some train tracks and descend a slope. Near the marker, you’ll find an entrance that leads to a small drainage ditch where the weapon is concealed. Keep in mind, though, that acquiring this weapon won’t be as straightforward as it appears.

Upon grabbing the weapon, expect an encounter with a Bloodsucker attempting to eliminate you. It’s advisable to opt for a Shotgun and aim for critical hits when the monster gets close. This creature is swift and perilous; staying near the wall is your best defense against it sneaking up on Skiff.

A more convenient approach when encountering Vampires, who usually arrive in twos, is to dash towards a building or an abandoned vehicle, and position yourself with your back against the structure. Stay calm, let them approach, then empty your entire clip on them. These creatures are known for toyings with their prey, so they may orbit around you for a while, making you expend ammo unnecessarily before lunging at you. If by chance, players find themselves caught off guard and pinned to the ground, they should swiftly use a First Aid Kit, as the creature will likely finish the job otherwise. This can be quite bothersome,

After defeating the pesky intruder, players can then utilize this SMG, uniquely equipped with a drum magazine, boasting a slightly quicker firing speed than many other SMGs in the game. This weapon excels particularly at short ranges, proving especially effective against mutants like Bayuns, Bloodsuckers, Blind Dogs, and Rodents.

Given that these adversaries are swift or appear in large numbers, the Shah’s Mate weapon will prove beneficial for the remainder of the game. However, remember that it uses a significant amount of ammunition, so always ensuring you have plenty of bullets on hand is crucial. If players find themselves short on funds to buy ammo, or repair/upgrade their weapons, there’s a helpful Money Glitch they can exploit. It’s not the most honorable method, but in a game where trust is scarce and players are constantly besieged by murderous mutants and bandits, any edge is valuable.
