They brought that back in FireRed and LeafGreen. It’s cool because the original games didn’t have Pokémon abilities like Soundproof. But FireRed and LeafGreen were updated to include those, so some Pokémon can now block sound-based moves with it. Mr. Mime being immune makes perfect sense, given he’s a mime! But he’s not the only one. Voltorb and Electrode have Soundproof too, probably because they don’t have ears! And the best part? FireRed and LeafGreen let you trade Pokémon from later generations after getting the National Pokédex, so Pokémon like Whismur, Loudred, and Exploud could have Soundproof too – it’s a really neat detail!
Even though Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are older games, players are still finding new things!
