In Life is Strange: Reunion, during the Mabon party at the Abraxas house, you’ll face a choice: attack or distract the man with the sledgehammer. Don’t worry too much about it, though – even though the game presents it as a big decision, your choice doesn’t actually affect the story.

Okay, so this choice basically just affects whether or not I grab those “Blueprints” – it’s an optional piece of evidence. If I want to unlock the “Major Gumshoe” Trophy/Achievement in Life is Strange: Reunion, I need to pick them up by choosing to attack. They can also give me a hint about who started the fire, making it easier to figure out, but honestly, you can still make the right choice without them. They’re just a helpful shortcut, not a necessity.

Should You Distract or Attack in Life is Strange Reunion?

In Life is Strange: Reunion, it’s best to attack the man with the sledgehammer. Choosing to distract him offers no advantages, but attacking him will cause him to drop the “Blueprints” evidence, which is necessary to unlock the “Major Gumshow” Trophy/Achievement.

Don’t stress over this decision – even though the game presents it as important, it doesn’t actually change anything that happens after the Mabon party. It’s marked as a ‘major decision’ simply to indicate it’s needed if you’re trying to collect everything or earn a Trophy/Achievement. Also, if you want to figure out who started the fire yourself, you’ll need to grab the Blueprints.

While you can figure out who started the fire without the blueprints, they definitely make it easier to pinpoint the responsible person.

What Happens if You Distract in Life is Strange Reunion?

During the Mabon scene in Life is Strange: Reunion, if you decide to distract the man with the sledgehammer, Chloe uses a siren sound on her phone to make him think the police are arriving. He then leaves on his own, and Chloe shares a humorous moment with Reggie, who also believes the police are coming and quickly exits the room.

In this scenario, the man with the sledgehammer does not drop the “Blueprints” optional evidence.

What Happens if You Attack in Life is Strange Reunion?

If you attack the man with the sledgehammer during the Mabon scene, Chloe will push him down. He’ll get back up and run off, and Reggie, who is under the influence of drugs, will ask Chloe, “Are you the Innermost Secret?” Chloe simply smiles and Reggie walks away.

In this scenario, the man with the sledgehammer does drop the “Blueprints” optional evidence.
