Okay, so in Crimson Desert, you quickly find yourself swimming in stuff! Recipes, crafting plans, alchemy formulas, books… it all adds up fast. If you’re like me and don’t constantly clean out your inventory, it gets super cluttered and honestly, a real pain to deal with.
Players looking to free up space in their inventory are likely wondering if deleting these items will have any negative consequences later in the game.
Should You Sell Recipes in Crimson Desert?
Absolutely! Once you learn a recipe, blueprint, alchemy formula, or crafting manual in Crimson Desert, that knowledge becomes permanently part of your character. You can freely get rid of the item itself – discard it or sell it – without losing what you’ve learned.
Before you try to sell a recipe in Crimson Desert, make sure you’ve actually learned it. Just having the recipe in your inventory isn’t enough – you need to examine it first to truly learn it.
How to Learn Recipes
To find out how to make something, open your inventory and click the “Crafting Manual” icon. This will show you a list of all craftable items. Click on the recipe you’re interested in and select “Use”. Finally, press CTRL (on keyboard and mouse), L1 (on PlayStation 5), or LB (on Xbox) to view the details.
When you look at recipes, manuals, or blueprints in your inventory, their descriptions will now include a message saying you’ve learned them.
Other Uses for Recipes in Crimson Desert
Once you’ve learned what a recipe or crafting book teaches you, the only remaining purpose is to give them as gifts to specific shopkeepers, which will raise your reputation with them.
If you give weapon and armor crafting books to Equipment Shop owners and Blacksmiths, they’ll trust you more. Grocers and Butchers prefer cooking recipes. Basically, each shopkeeper likes receiving gifts related to their specialty.
While you can build trust easily with Coin Pouches or Gold Bars, it’s often more convenient to just sell recipes you might not use. Keeping them to potentially sell later takes up valuable inventory space, and selling in bulk is a simpler solution.
Building strong relationships with vendors in Crimson Desert lets you access special items and beneficial trade deals through supply contracts.
Should You Sell Bounty Posters in Crimson Desert?
Definitely do that, but make sure you finish the bounty first – capture or eliminate the criminal it’s about. Bounty posters frequently have hints about where to find the target that aren’t available on the quest details in your journal.
When you’re trying to track down a hard-to-find bounty target, the information on the bounty poster can be really helpful – if you can figure out what the clues mean. That’s why it’s a good idea to keep bounty posters until someone actually claims the reward.
