Bandai Namco is About to Start 2025 With a Bang

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Bandai Namco’s diverse lineup of games, I must say that 2024 was a rollercoaster ride, filled with highs and lows, like a game of Tekken itself! With Tekken 8 shining brightly amidst the mix, it’s safe to say that Bandai Namco continues to deliver on its promises.

Bandai Namco stands as a prominent figure in the gaming world, boasting ownership of numerous popular series such as Dark Souls, Pac-Man, Tales, and Tekken. However, the year 2024 presented a mix of successes and challenges for this company. While it launched several top-quality games like Gundam Breaker 4, Dragon Ball; Sparking Zero!, and critically acclaimed Tekken 8, some releases faced mixed-to-negative feedback. Games like Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash and Unknown 9: Awakening were heavily criticized, while titles such as Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream and Death Note: Killer Within garnered polarizing reviews.

It appears that Bandai Namco has an intriguing lineup of upcoming games, and here are some of them: “Little Nightmares 3” from Supermassive Games (a horror platformer) and “Dawnwalker,” a dark action RPG by Rebel Wolves. Although specific release dates for these two games haven’t been set, others have already been scheduled. In fact, four of Bandai Namco’s games are slated for launch in the first half of 2025. Assuming no unforeseen delays, it looks like the publisher will kick off next year quite robustly.

Bandai Namco Has a Lot of Releases Planned for the First Half of 2025

Remasters of Freedom Wars and Tales of Graces f Are Launching in January

The first two games scheduled for release by Bandai Namco in 2025 aren’t entirely fresh titles but rather updated versions, or remasters. One of them is the enhanced version of “Freedom Wars Remastered”, a role-playing game with elements similar to Monster Hunter, which initially appeared in 2014. To this day, the original “Freedom Wars” remains exclusive to PlayStation Vita, but its remaster will be playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC upon its release on January 10, 2025. Shortly following the launch of this game, Bandai Namco intends to debut another title, “Tales of Graces f Remastered”, for PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 17.

Originally released as an exclusive for the Wii in Japan, Tales of Graces was later adapted for the PlayStation 3 in the Western market. With its upcoming remaster, this classic game will now be playable on all contemporary gaming systems.

Synduality: Echo of Ada is Bandai Namco’s First New Game for 2025

Besides Freedom Wars and Tales of Graces remasters, Bandai Namco has another exciting title slated for launch at the beginning of 2025 – Synduality: Echo of Ada. For those not familiar with it, this game is a sci-fi PvPvE extraction shooter that blends action RPG mechanics and playable giant mechs. It’s part of a larger Bandai Namco multimedia franchise, which includes an anime, manga, light novel, and even a serial novel. Developed by Game Studio Inc., Synduality: Echo of Ada is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on January 27, 2025.

Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is Coming Out Sometime in Early 2025

In the first half of 2025, another exciting game by Bandai Namco is set to debut – Bleach: Rebirth of Souls. Much like other anime-themed games from the company, this one too is a 3D arena fighter. What sets it apart is its distinctive one-hit kill mechanism, adding an intriguing spin to conventional fighting game dynamics. Interestingly, Bleach: Rebirth of Souls marks the first console-based Bleach game in over a decade. As of now, there’s no specific release date for this arena fighter, but Bandai Namco plans to launch it in early 2025.

Little Nightmares 3 and Fate/EXTRA Record May Be Released in the Near Future

Although Bandai Namco hasn’t confirmed any new releases for the first half of 2025, there are unofficial speculations that games like “Little Nightmares 3” and “Fate/EXTRA Record” might debut within this timeframe. With “Little Nightmares 3” being originally slated for a 2024 launch before getting pushed back to 2025, it’s likely that the development process is nearing completion. Similarly, the upcoming JRPG “Fate/EXTRA Record,” which has been in production for about five years now, could potentially be closer to release than we anticipate. However, fans should wait for an official announcement from Bandai Namco before expecting these games to appear early next year.
