Crystal Caterpillar Location in Fields of Mistria

Crystal Caterpillar Location in Fields of Mistria

As a seasoned adventurer and collector of all things peculiar in the mystical land of Mistria, I can confidently say that the hunt for the elusive Crystal Caterpillar has been one of my most challenging yet rewarding endeavors. This bright blue and white creature, shimmering like a winter’s dream, is not just a sight to behold but also a coveted prize for those who wish to fill the Insect Wing of the town museum.

In the game called “Fields of Mistria“, your mission involves making contributions to the town’s museum. The museum has four distinct sections: each with various categories. One such section is the “Insects Wing”, where you need to donate a variety of insects that you encounter while playing. During the winter season, keep an eye out for the elusive Crystal Caterpillar, one of the rarest bugs in Mistria. Unlike most insects, this caterpillar doesn’t crawl on the ground and can only be found under specific weather conditions. Hence, collecting the Crystal Caterpillar is one of the more challenging tasks related to bugs in Mistria.

How to Get a Crystal Caterpillar

Weather Conditions and Habitat

To acquire a Crystal Caterpillar, it should be during the winter season, and the forecast should indicate either snowfall or a blizzard. By using the crystal ball item that Juniper gave you in Year 1, you can predict the next day’s weather, providing you with ample time to prepare for Crystal Caterpillar farming.

To find the elusive Crystal Caterpillar, you should gently shake the branches of various trees scattered throughout Mistria. This can be done by moving up to a tree and pressing the designated action button. If successful, you’ll observe leaves rustling or, ideally, spot a Crystal Caterpillar. Keep in mind that these creatures don’t have a particular location where they consistently appear. You can find them on your farm, along The Eastern Road, or within The Narrows.

If you find it hard to have snowy days, consider casting the “Summon Rain” spell instead. This spell will continue to produce snow as long as you remain in the same location. It is advantageous to utilize this spell in a wooded area. Keep in mind that one sphere of mana is required to perform the spell.

The Shimmering Worm is a vibrant blend of blue and white. When it tumbles down from the tree, remember to snag it with your Insect Trap. It’s crucial to distinguish the Shimmering Worm from the Cozy Beetle, which shares a resemblance but lacks the brightness of the worm. Luckily, you can discover the Cozy Beetles by trimming grass or cracking rocks, neither of which are techniques for gathering Shimmering Worms.

The Crystal Caterpillar is displayed in the museum’s Insect Wing in the Narrows. It is part of the Winter Bug Set along with the Walking Stick, Winterpillar, Brighbtulb Moth, and Frost Flutter Butterfly. Depending on how many insects you’ve donated to the Winter Set, you may or may not get a reward for turning in the Crystal Caterpillar. This reward will also vary depending on how much of the Insect Wing you’ve already completed. You can also sell the Crystal Caterpillar for 20 Tesserae.
