Koshmar: The Last Reverie Announced From Dev Studio Formed by Industry Veterans
Purple Ray Studio, a game developer based in Warsaw, recently announced their new game, Koshmar: The Last Reverie. It’s a Gothic action adventure that blends RPG and roguelike gameplay. The game has a dark and atmospheric style, which is no surprise considering the studio is made up of experienced developers who previously worked on popular titles like The Witcher 2: The Assassination of Kings, Resident Evil Village, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
In Koshmar, you play as Violet, the daughter of a mortician who frequently escapes into her dreams. When the town of Radwan is hit by a strange sleeping sickness, Violet must navigate both the real world and a dangerous dreamscape. She’ll face numerous enemies and use powers drawn from her dreams and nightmares. Throughout her journey, Violet’s choices will have a significant impact on the world around her and the people of Radwan. As she interacts with others and makes difficult decisions, Violet’s mental state will deteriorate, and players can choose whether to succumb to the growing madness or struggle to maintain her sanity.
I’m really excited about Koshmar: The Last Reverie! It looks like it’s blending roguelike elements with RPGs in a way I haven’t seen before, which should make for a really fresh action adventure experience. From the trailer, the gameplay seems incredibly dynamic, giving you tons of options. I especially love how Violet’s dream world ties into her powers – it’s a cool concept and a great way to showcase her growing abilities. It all just looks so intriguing!
