Pokemon GO Confirms Gen 9 Pokemon Debut for April Event

Pokémon GO is introducing Orthworm, a new Steel-type Pokémon from the ninth generation, with its upcoming Steeled Resolve event in late April. With the game nearing its 10th anniversary, players have many limited-time events to anticipate in the coming months. The current Memories in Motion season has already delivered highly anticipated Pokémon like Gigantamax Pikachu and Blipbug in March, and the game has confirmed even more monster releases are planned for April.

April was a great month for Pokémon GO players! The game surprised everyone on April Fools’ Day by releasing Mimikyu, a highly requested Pokémon. It appeared in the wild as part of the ‘A Shockingly Good Time’ event. Then, on April 4th, a special Fashion Raid Day event let players catch over ten Pokémon wearing different costumes. Now, another limited-time event is coming, focusing on Steel-type Pokémon and introducing a popular worm Pokémon originally from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games.

Pokemon GO Reveals Orthworm Debut in Steeled Resolve Event

The popular game Pokemon GO is introducing Orthworm, a new Pokemon from Generation 9, as part of its upcoming Steeled Resolve event. This event runs from April 28th to May 4th, and players can battle and catch Orthworm in 3-Star Raids. A special feature of this debut is that shiny Orthworm will be available from the start! The event will also highlight Meltan, giving players a better chance to find a shiny Meltan by using Mystery Boxes – and these boxes will open more quickly than usual. Keep an eye out for more Steel-type Pokemon like Magnemite, Aron, and Ferroseed, as they’ll be appearing more often in the wild during the event.

During this event in Pokémon GO, you’ll have a better chance of finding Pokémon like Pineco, Nosepass, and Drilbur by completing Field Research. You can also find shiny Honedge, Shieldon, and Beldum in 1-Star Raids. Players will receive the limited GO Pass: Steeled Resolve – Taken Over, which offers rewards like double Candy from catching Pokémon, a Super Rocket Radar, and encounters with Meltan and other event Pokémon. Steel-type Pokémon are strong in battles and Raids, so it’s a great time to collect Candy to power up favorites like Meltan and Metagross.

Orthworm, a large earthworm Pokémon known as the Lurking Steel Titan in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, will be appearing in Pokémon GO through Raids rather than being found in the wild. It’s currently unknown if Orthworm will only be available during special events. The Pokémon has also become increasingly popular with fans and is currently being used by players in Pokémon Champions.
