In Disney Dreamlight Valley, the quest ‘A Raccoon’s Return’ requires you to assist Pocahontas with preparations for a celebration and welcome Meeko. To finish Pocahontas’ last friendship quest, you’ll need to find glowing algae, and this explains where to locate it on Dazzle Beach.
A Raccoon’s Return Quest In DDV – Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Raccoon’s Return quest begins with Pocahontas asking you to decorate Dazzle Beach with Moontide Glow Lampposts and a banner. After you’ve done that, she’ll send you to the Cursed Cave to check on some ingredients while she handles another task.
As Dreamers approaches the cave where Ursula was once imprisoned, they find strange paw prints and notice that several ingredients are gone. Pocahontas quickly realizes Meeko must be responsible and asks for your help finding him. To track Meeko, you’ll need to make Moontide Glow Necklaces, which will reveal his paw prints in the dark. One of the things you’ll need to make these necklaces is glowing algae.
Glowing Algae Location In DDV – Disney Dreamlight Valley
If you’re looking for glowing algae for the ‘A Raccoon’s Return’ quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you can find it by either digging at sparkling spots or fishing in the golden ripples on Dazzle Beach. Keep in mind that not every golden ripple or dig spot will give you algae – sometimes you’ll get fish or regular dream shards instead. You’ll need to keep trying until you get the algae you need.
Besides the glowing algae, please gather the necessary materials and give them to Pocahontas – she’ll use them to make the necklaces.

Give the necklaces to the villagers they belong to, then go back to the cursed cave to talk to Pocahontas. Put on a completely black outfit and wear the necklace Pocahontas made you – this will help you spot some paw prints. Leave the cave and follow those paw prints all the way to the docks at Dazzle Beach, where you’ll find a whirlpool.
Merlin instructs you to make a unique bait to lure Meeko from the whirlpool. You’ll need the following ingredients:

Make the Raccoon Bait, then go to the whirlpool. A scene will play showing the Dreamers rescuing Meeko, reuniting Pocahontas with her friend. She’ll give you a paper that was hidden in Meeko’s fur and thank you for the wonderful journey.
So, I finally finished the ‘A Raccoon’s Return’ quest in DDV, and letting that raccoon settle into the village was totally worth it! I got the Embroidered Set as a reward, but the best part is I unlocked Meeko as a companion. He’s awesome to have along for the adventures!
