In Crimson Desert, you can discover the Lucon Large Shield by finding a treasure chest hidden beneath the village of Beighen, a small town located south of Pailune.
The Lucon Large Shield is found directly in the game world and doesn’t require players to beat any bosses or complete puzzles to obtain it.
How to Get Lucon Large Shield in Crimson Desert
The Lucon Large Shield is hidden in an underground area within the Beighen Candlery in Crimson Desert. The Candlery is south of Pailune and north of Hernand. To reach the underground area, you’ll need to find a hidden trapdoor inside an unmarked shed on the edge of town. Here are the directions to help you find it.
- Fast Travel to the Black Wall Abyss Nexus found directly east of the “A” of Pailune on the map.
- Head south to reach Beighen Candlery.
- Open the treasure chest inside to claim the Lucon Large Shield.
Look for a shed at the edge of the town with an empty wagon parked under the canopy, and straw bales piled up around it.
Enter, and you’ll notice a trapdoor on the ground.
Open the trapdoor and climb down the stairs to the basement.
Enter the hole in the wall right next to the ladder by crouching down.
The basement where you find the Lucon Large Shield is also filled with weapons displayed on the walls – swords, greatswords, hammers, greataxes, and more. These weapons aren’t special or one-of-a-kind, but many have good stats and could be an upgrade if you haven’t found anything better yet.
Even if you don’t need the weapons yourself, you can sell them to merchants for Silver or give them to your camp. Plus, because there’s no one around in that area, you can take them without worrying about losing reputation or getting a bounty.

The Lucon Large Shield is a good, simple tower shield to use when you’re first starting the game. However, you’ll quickly find better shields as you progress and won’t need it for long.
This shield doesn’t have any flashy features like the Shotgun Shield, and it improves at a similar rate to other shields as you upgrade it.
Honestly, whether or not I use the Lucon Large Shield really just depends on how it looks. If you get the colors and armor just right, it can totally nail that classic paladin aesthetic, which is awesome!
