Hunter x Hunter’s Kurapika Appears with Sailor Mars in Surprising Crossover Art

Since its debut in 1998, Hunter x Hunter has been a popular anime and manga series, gaining a dedicated following in Weekly Shonen Jump. However, the series has faced interruptions due to author Yoshihiro Togashi’s health issues, leading to frequent pauses in publication. Fans are excited for the release of chapter 420 and beyond, and Togashi recently provided an update on the series’ progress, along with a surprising new artwork that has quickly become popular online.

In 1999, Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter and YuYu Hakusho, married Naoko Takeuchi, who created Sailor Moon. This union made them a celebrated couple in the anime community. Recently, Togashi shared a heartwarming social media post praising his wife’s support and unveiled new illustrations featuring beloved characters from both of their works.

Hunter x Hunter Creator Yoshihiro Togashi Credits Wife, Sailor Moon Author Naoko Takeuchi, for Keeping Him Going

I was so excited to see this! Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, just posted this amazing crossover art on Twitter! It features Kurapika alongside Sailor Mars and Artemis from Sailor Moon – seriously cool! He said it was inspired by his wife encouraging him, and it’s so sweet because Artemis is even holding a gold coin that says “thanks.” Fans are already buzzing, wondering if the date on Sailor Mars’ talisman hints at new Hunter x Hunter announcements, but it’s also her birthday on April 17th! And if you look closely, you’ll notice Kurapika’s birthday, April 4th, is right there on his collar too. It’s just a really thoughtful and fun piece!

Fans of Hunter x Hunter are used to waiting, as the manga often takes breaks. But this week brought some exciting news: the author, Togashi, has confirmed that new chapters are coming soon! He’s already finished chapters 411 through 420 and is almost done with chapters 421 through 430. This means fans could get a large number of new chapters around 2026. While the exact release date isn’t known, Togashi encourages everyone to keep an eye on Weekly Shonen Jump for updates.

Naoko Takeuchi’s most famous creation, Sailor Moon, remains incredibly popular 35 years after it first began. Right now, a new stage show called “Sailor Moon – Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo” is running at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. It started on April 4th and features a completely original story. Fans can enjoy themed events tied to the seasons and celebrate each character’s birthday. To mark the occasion, Takeuchi has also created some brand new artwork.
