Squeakross: Home Squeak Home demo coming in December

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for puzzle games and a soft spot for adorable characters, I can hardly contain my excitement for Squeakross: Home Squeak Home! Having dabbled in The Spirit and the Mouse, I can attest to Alblune’s knack for creating captivating worlds that are not only visually appealing but also offer a relaxing and engaging gameplay experience.

On December 6th, Alblune’s developer team will release a demonstration of their latest game, titled “Squeakross: Find Your Way Home,” which will be available on the platform Steam.

According to the developer, the demo provides “a sneak peek at the future puzzle-solving and home decoration gameplay for players before the complete version is officially launched”.

In this demonstration, you’ll encounter a cheerful mouse named Nini, who is both a fanatic about nonograms and the mastermind behind the Home Squeak Home Program. She has handed over an unoccupied rodent dwelling to you, and your mission is to resolve Squeakross puzzles in order to furnish it! By utilizing the puzzle catalog, players can start learning how to complete puzzles to unlock various furniture items. With each completed puzzle, a new piece of furniture becomes available, turning your house from bare into a beautifully decorated space!

Squeakross Dwelling: Experience the delight of merging traditional number-reveal puzzles with home design in Squeak Dwelling. In this demo, take on the adorable role of a rodent, solve mysteries by deciphering puzzles, and acquire furniture to personalize your ideal rodent abode!

As a fan myself, I’d say diving into Squeakross is an absolute joy for both beginners and seasoned nonogram enthusiasts! Nini’s step-by-step tutorials make it easy to grasp the basics of solving these puzzles. Need a refresher? Simply navigate to the main menu for additional guidance whenever you need it. For those who might require some assistance, don’t hesitate to activate the Logic Assist Mode. This feature offers helpful hints like ‘automatic case-solving’ and a ‘show mistakes’ button. And for experienced players, the demo presents some tough puzzle variants that, once conquered, will unlock colorful customizations for your furniture!

Here’s the key features for the game, from the press release:

  • 56 puzzles to solve in the game’s free demo.
  • The logic-assist system reveals possible puzzle solutions to assist the new player experience.
  • Nini’s Challenges elevate the game’s difficulty and unlock color variants for existing furniture
  • 35 furniture pieces are waiting to be collected in the demo preview.
  • 11 costumes are available to dress up your furry friend!
  • The Rodent Editor allows you to fully customize your rodent tenant.
  • “Streamer mode” silences copyrighted music for a seamless stream experience.

Previously, the developer was involved in creating “The Spirit and the Mouse”, a game we found enjoyable, rating it 8 out of 10. In essence, this game offers a charming environment devoid of adversaries or stressful situations that might disrupt its relaxed atmosphere. If you’re seeking action or a tough challenge, you may not find it appealing. However, if you appreciate a heartwarming adventure about a small mouse with a large heart, it’s certainly worth experiencing.

Squeakross: Home Squeak Home is coming to PC in 2025.
