Instead of just parrying or dodging, players with shields can disarm enemies. To do this, hold the block button (L1/LB/Ctrl) and wait for an enemy attack. Then, quickly press the attack button (RT/R2/RMB) about half a second after the attack lands. This will knock the enemy’s weapon away, making them much easier to defeat. It doesn’t work on tougher enemies like Elites and bosses, but it’s a great way to handle regular foes with less effort.
Many players of Crimson Desert likely already know this trick, but because the game doesn’t explain it, a lot of people will probably miss it. It only works if you’re using a shield – players with two-handed weapons or who dual-wield won’t be able to do it. One player even mentioned they stumbled upon it by chance and initially thought it was a random disarm mechanic against their opponent.
How to Disarm Enemies in Crimson Desert
- Equip a shield.
- Hold L1/LB/Ctrl to block.
- Allow an enemy to attack you.
