The Oath Ring Shield is hidden in Crimson Desert, beneath some ruins in the small town of Odeck. Odeck is located in the northwestern part of the map, north of Silver Wolf Mountain.
How to Get the Oath Ring Shield in Crimson Desert
You can find the Oath Ring Shield in the Hall of the Masterless Throne, an underground area. To get there, look for a trapdoor in the Volvior Ruins, which are located in the Odeck region. Odeck is in the top left corner of the map, north of the Steel Mountains. Here’s how to obtain the shield:
- Fast travel to the Silver Wolf Mountain Abyss Nexus.
- Enter the ruins and look for a trapdoor on the ground in the debris.
- Follow the narrow path down through the staircase until you come across a flamethrower trap.
- Crouch and dodge roll forward to avoid the flames and bypass the trap.
- Enter the room and pick up the Oath Ring Shield from the altar.
Head straight north and you’ll come across a dilapidated shack called the Volvior Ruins.
Open the trapdoor and drop down to the bottom to reach the Hall of the Masterless Throne.
Cut the rope at the bottom of the stairs to disable the second trap.
In the main hall, enter the hole in the wall to the left of the throne.
Interact with the Handle on the wall to operate it, revealing a hidden chamber behind the stone wall.
Besides the Oath Ring Shield, you can discover a Palmer Pill hidden behind the throne in the main hall, and a small treasure chest is located just to the right of it.
Right near where you found the Oath Ring Shield, there’s a snowy area where Kliff and Oongka can discover the Chillfallen Sword – a powerful one-handed weapon.

The Oath Ring Shield is a well-rounded option, boosting both your attack and movement speed. Its base stats are comparable to other round shields in Crimson Desert – most gear has similar raw stats. The key advantage of this shield is that it already includes a Defense 3 Abyss Gear, giving you a significant boost to your defense from the start – equivalent to one and a half refinements.
As a fan, I’m really excited about the Oath Ring Shield! Once you fully upgrade it, it gives you a solid Defense boost of 25, plus a little bump to both your Attack and Movement Speed – Level 1 for each. And that’s before you even factor in how it works with Abyss Gears and all the extra stats they bring to the table!
