As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Frostpunk 2 has quickly become one of my favorites. The post-apocalyptic city-building survival game offers an immersive and challenging experience that keeps me coming back for more.
At TopMob, we’ve dedicated many hours to navigating the world of Frostpunk 2 since its launch, producing numerous guides aimed at aiding both new and returning players as they endure the frigid wasteland. It seems our post-apocalyptic journey isn’t over just yet. Today, the developers at 11 bit studios revealed their roadmap for Frostpunk 2 in 2025, which includes details about new content and upgrades they plan to roll out throughout the next year.
From its September debut up until now, Frostpunk 2 has consistently received positive reviews on Steam, with approximately 1,000 players actively engaged during the writing of this text – surprisingly, this number holds steady even in the middle of a typical workday. Incredibly, at launch alone, the survival city-building game reached a staggering peak player count of over 35,000!
Here’s what we have to look forward to from Frostpunk 2 in 2025:
- Major Content Updates: At least one major content update is currently planned for 2025, with quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new game content and mechanics added based on player feedback.
- Console Launch: Frostpunk 2 will officially launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, though the studio has not released an official date.
- DLC: Three major DLC packs will launch throughout the year to Frostpunk 2 in 2025—Spectrum, Aurora, and a currently unnamed DLC pack. These DLC packs will include additional story elements, new mechanics, and so much more to expand the unforgiving world of Frostpunk 2!
