Gintama Anime Is Loved By Fans
Hideaki Sorachi’s series, Gintama, started publishing in Weekly Shonen Jump back in December 2003. Originally planned to conclude in 2018, it was instead moved to Jump Giga and continued for three issues. Later, the manga shifted to the Gintama app, where it wrapped up its run in June 2019.
Gintama has been a massive success, with over 74 million copies sold, placing it among the top-tier manga series of all time. The initial anime adaption of Gintama debuted in April 2006 and continued for 201 episodes before concluding in March 2010.
In the year 2023, it was revealed that Gintama would produce an anime adaptation for the spin-off novel titled Class 3Z Ginpachi-sensei, set to release in October 2025. The production is being handled by Bandai Namco Pictures. Natsumi Higashida will be directing, while Makoto Moriwaki takes on the role of chief director. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mitei Mark II are responsible for series composition, Shinji Takeuchi is the character designer and chief animation director.
