How to Beat Invisible Enemies in Stalker 2

During the opening mission called “There And Back Again” in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players will come across two elusive adversaries: the Bloodsucker and the Poltergeist. These creatures are well-known to fans of the series as terrifying mutants. However, for newcomers, their sudden emergence might be a surprising encounter.

In tougher game settings, the strategies provided will stay consistent, but concealed adversaries will inflict greater harm on players and require more injury before they are defeated. Therefore, ensure you have an adequate supply of health kits (medkits) and wound dressings (bandages) to sustain your combat.

How to Beat the Bloodsuckers

In terms of handling the unseen adversaries, vampires can prove trickier due to their swiftness and ability to inflict significant harm with their sharp talons. While automatic rifles (ARs) or submachine guns (SMGs) are effective, it would be advantageous to use a shotgun against these creatures since they tend to attack at close quarters.

  1. Try to spot the camouflaged silhouette of the Bloodsucker approaching you. It wil be much easier to spot on a plain ground with no grass or trees blocking the view.
  2. Once it approaches, you’ll hear the sound of the Bloodsucker revealing its body to attack you. When that happens, you’ll have a split second to jump out of the way to dodge the attack.
  3. After jumping away, shoot a few shotgun shells into the creature. You’ll see its blood splatter, even if it turns invisible again.
  4. Try to keep a close eye on the Bloodsucker’s movements and shoot it once it starts charging towards you. You’ll be able to damage it even while it’s invisible.
  5. Try to damage it with a combination of AR and shotgun, depending on how far away the enemy is. Damaging it enough will defeat the Bloodsucker.

How to Beat Poltergeists

Unlike some entities that can materialize and then vanish as if they were vampires, Poltergeists exhibit a distinct behavior. Unlike being fully invisible, they often take the form of a ghostly cloud, using their telekinetic powers to hurl objects at players. In dealing with these spectral adversaries, weapons that fire automatically, such as ARs (Automatic Rifles) and SMGs (Submachine Guns), prove particularly effective.

  1. In the area with a Poltergeist, you’ll start hearing the sound of objects being lifted into the air and getting ready to be thrown. This can happen even before you’ve spotted the creature itself. Jump away at the last minute to avoid getting hit.
  2. Switch to the automatic or burst mode of your weapon and target the gas form of the Poltergeist until it creates a wall of rocks and darts away.
  3. Keep track of its movement to know where it will be stationary next. Keep your distance, because if you come close to it, it will pass right through you and go into another part of the area.
  4. Head to where the creature relocated to and start shooting it down. Keep an eye on any objects charging up to hit you and dodge them before getting hit.
  5. Keep repeating the process until the Poltergeist is down, revealing its true body.
