Vegeta began as a cruel villain, but he transformed into one of the strongest defenders of Universe 7. While always striving to become more powerful, he truly unlocked his potential when he joined forces with the heroes, ultimately becoming one of the most formidable characters in the entire Dragon Ball series.
Vegeta pushed himself to become stronger than ever by battling incredibly powerful enemies throughout the Dragon Ball series. This article will explore those toughest opponents and explain what made them such formidable challenges for Vegeta.
Broly Is The Saiyan With The Greatest Potential
The Legendary Super Saiyan
Broly had been a character in the Dragon Ball series for years, but he didn’t officially become part of the main storyline until the 2018 movie dedicated to him. Like the previous versions of Broly, this one was an incredibly gifted Saiyan with unmatched potential.
Broly’s incredible potential allowed him to fight on equal footing with Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, even while holding back. He eventually reached a power level so immense that only the combined force of Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta could overcome it. While this strength came at the cost of his sanity, Broly was demonstrably more powerful than Vegeta.
Moro Was An Ancient Evil From Eons Ago
The Plant Eater
Following the Tournament of Power, Moro emerged as a major new threat – one that endangered the entire universe. This ancient villain had been imprisoned for 10 million years, and he grew incredibly powerful by draining the life energy of planets and stealing the abilities of others.
Moro was incredibly powerful, even surpassing what Goku in his Ultra Instinct form could handle alone. While Vegeta initially managed to defeat Moro during the conflict, Moro later became much stronger through his Planet Moro transformation. Ultimately, Vegeta’s Forced Spirit Fission technique proved vital in Moro’s defeat.

Granolah Was A True Equal To Ultra Ego Vegeta
The Strongest Cerealian
The Granolah arc is considered a highlight of the series, largely because of its deep dive into both Granolah and Vegeta’s characters. Granolah wished to become the strongest being in the universe using the Cereal Dragon Balls, which naturally led to a confrontation with Goku and Vegeta.
Granolah initially seemed to handle Ultra Instinct Goku with ease, but his real power became clear when he battled Ultra Ego Vegeta. The two were incredibly evenly matched, with Vegeta at his strongest, and their final exchange almost resulted in both of them being defeated.
Gas Was The Main Villain Of The Granolah Arc
The Evil Heeter
The Granolah arc featured a lot of enemies, but Gas ultimately became the primary villain after Granolah teamed up with the heroes. Because he made the same wish as the Cerealian, Gas became the strongest being in Universe 7, allowing him to easily overpower Granolah, Goku, and Vegeta at first.
As the battle progressed, the heroes became increasingly powerful, forcing Gas to constantly evolve to keep up. This constant adaptation ultimately left him vulnerable. While Frieza ultimately defeated him, Gas’s fight with Vegeta demonstrated the incredible power of Ultra Ego.
Black Frieza Is The Strongest Mortal In The Mutliverse
The Galactic Tyrant
While Gas seemed like the main bad guy in the Granolah arc, he wasn’t actually the strongest. The real danger came at the very end when Frieza returned, much more powerful than before. His new form was so strong that he defeated Goku and Vegeta with just one blow, even with them using their godly powers.
Most fans consider Black Frieza, in his most powerful form, to be the only mortal strong enough to rival the Destroyer Gods. He reached this incredible power through intense training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, allowing him to defeat the two strongest heroes of that time and become the series’ biggest threat.
Beerus Is The God Of Destruction Of Universe 7
The Strongest Destroyer
In the world of Dragon Ball, Gods of Destruction are usually the most powerful beings in their universe. Beerus stands out even among them as the strongest, having defeated eleven other Gods of Destruction in a battle of strength. He achieved this using his destructive energy, the rare Ultra Instinct technique, and his brilliant fighting strategy, making him the ultimate warrior in the series.
Even though Vegeta fought Beerus, the battle quickly highlighted just how much stronger Beerus is. While Vegeta did put up a decent fight, he was no match for the Destroyer, and even with his new Ultra Ego power, he’s probably still significantly weaker than Beerus.
