From the very beginning, the Elbaf arc has felt like the most intense and important storyline in One Piece yet. The introduction of the Gods’ Knights immediately created a sense of danger and fear. Things escalated further with Imu’s involvement, first through his subordinate Gunko, and then by Imu himself directly entering the conflict.
Given the dramatic events unfolding on the island, many fans believe the final saga of One Piece – often referred to as the Final War – has begun with the current arc focusing on Elbaf. This makes the challenges Luffy now faces the most significant test of his journey so far.
The Limit Of Luffy’s Strength Will Be Tested In This Arc
Where Does He Stand?
When the Gods’ Knights first arrived on the island, they were nearly impossible to defeat. They were immortal and invulnerable, meaning normal attacks simply didn’t harm them. Even if they lost a limb, they could fully heal and recover.
Scopper Gaban explained that the key to overcoming the Gods’ Knights’ defenses was a special technique called Conqueror’s Haki Coating – an advanced use of Conqueror’s Haki. Initially, only Luffy, Loki, and Scopper could coat their attacks with this Haki to bypass the defenses. Later in the story, it became clear that Zoro and Sanji were also learning to use this ability, which was a promising sign of their growth.
The arrival of Imu on the island has completely altered the situation. It’s the first time we’ve seen him venture into this world in a very long time, suggesting the ultimate showdown on Elbaf hasn’t happened yet. That battle will be against the strongest enemy ever presented in One Piece.
Everyone expects Luffy to confront this new villain, but many fans think he’s still not strong enough to win. While Luffy has mastered his Devil Fruit powers and all forms of Haki, this enemy seems far more powerful. It’s hard to predict how things will end, so we’ll have to wait and see how the battle unfolds.

Luffy’s Leadership Will Also Be Tested On Elbaf
The One To Lead The World
Everyone knows Luffy is the new Sun God Nika, and he’s the first to hold that power in over 800 years. This means he’s predicted to change the world by ending the long-standing, unfair control that certain groups have had over others.
As the massive Final War approaches, Luffy’s importance to the story is becoming clear, and we’ll truly see just how vital he is on the island of Elbaf. With Imu now revealed, the war is unavoidable. As the world’s ruler prepares his army, Luffy must gather his own forces to fight against him, and it all begins on Elbaf.
All this was inevitable! It was set into motion… long, long ago…
All signs point to Elbaf as where the world’s biggest battle will begin, and the Giants will likely fight alongside Luffy because he’s believed to be the reborn Nika. Now, Luffy needs to prove he’s worthy of the Nika fruit’s power and demonstrate why he was chosen to be such a crucial figure in the coming conflict.
Looking at the world of One Piece, it’s clear that most nations are already leaning towards Luffy or the Revolutionary Army. Considering Luffy and Dragon are father and son, it seems inevitable they’ll eventually unite against the World Government. Luffy is really the key to everything, and it feels like his fight against Imu, likely on Elbaf, will be the first step towards a larger victory for everyone.
Luffy Must Get Ready For The Death Of A Straw Hat
A Terrifying Possibility
Throughout the One Piece series, viewers have grown very attached to the Straw Hat crew, feeling like they’re part of the team. Because death is uncommon in the show, fans rarely worry about their favorite characters – especially the Straw Hats – being in real danger.
Elbaf would be an ideal place to bid farewell to a beloved member of the Straw Hat crew. This event could powerfully kick off the Final War and deeply affect the crew emotionally. Luffy values his crew above all else, so losing one of them would be devastating for him and serve as the catalyst for the ultimate conflict with Imu.
Okay, so everyone’s been speculating about who might not make it out of this next arc, and honestly, I think it’s going to be Usopp. His whole story has been building towards Elbaf and becoming a true warrior of the sea, and I have this feeling he’s going to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect Luffy. Imagine him jumping in front of danger, saving Luffy but giving his life – it would be a tragically beautiful way to complete his arc and prove he is worthy of being called a Brave Warrior of the Sea. Plus, it would be the perfect way to really push Luffy and test how far he’s come. It just feels right, you know?
Some fans also worry that other members of the Straw Hat crew might be in danger. Robin and Brook are often mentioned as possibilities – Robin because Imu could punish her for seeking out secret history, and Brook because he might try to avenge Gunko. Whatever happens, it seems very likely that one of the Straw Hats will die on Elbaf.
