In Soulmask, you can expand the number of tribe members you’re allowed by unlocking and improving the Connection Enhancement mask node. While it takes three upgrades total to reach the maximum number of friendly tribesmen, it’s a fairly straightforward process. The time it takes to do this might vary depending on your base’s location and access to resources.
How to Increase Tribe Limit in Soulmask
To start, press the ‘Y’ key to access the Mask Node Repair screen. Then, locate the Connection Enhancement node – it’s in the top row, second from the left. You’ll need a lot of Green Crystals to unlock and upgrade it, and you can usually find these crystals in the Ruins scattered throughout the world of Soulmask.
Once you fully upgrade Connection Enhancement to level 3, you’ll be able to have up to 53 tribespeople. However, you can increase this limit significantly – up to 1000 – by adjusting your server settings. If you’re playing by yourself, you can change the ‘Tribe Recruitment Limit’ in the Advanced Settings of your game save. This setting is located under the General tab, and you can set it to any number you prefer.
When playing on a server with other people, you normally start with a limit of 18 individual soldiers you can add to your personal army, while each tribe can have a total of 50 soldiers.
How to Get Green Crystals
When you find ancient ruins, they’ll automatically be marked on your map. You can also reveal ruins by dealing with scouts at Scout Camps. To do this, defeat a scout until their health is around 20%. A message will appear, similar to when you recruit someone. Press the ‘E’ key at that moment to extract their knowledge, and all nearby ruins will be shown on your map.
Now, you’ll need to explore ruins, hoping to find a chest containing Ancient Relics. These chests usually hold Green Crystals, Sunstones, and other useful items. If you find one, you can return the next day to collect more crystals. Also, keep an eye out for supply chests within Barbarian Camps, as they often contain Green Crystals too.
You’ll find that chests refill every few days within the game. If you’re playing by yourself, enemies will reappear in their camps if you go back to the main menu and start the game again. This lets you repeatedly get more warriors and build up your forces.
