Fire-based abilities are frequently seen in the world of One Piece. They’re incredibly useful, and the author, Oda, uses them in many different ways with a wide range of characters. While some characters with these powers, like Kaido, Big Mom, and Ace, have died by the time the story reaches its final arc, many others still remain and are likely to be important in what happens next.
Boa Marigold
- Fire Powers: Ignition
- Affiliation: Kuja Pirates
The Kuja tribe is expected to be very important in the final part of the One Piece story. While Boa Hancock is the strongest Kuja warrior, her sisters, Boa Marigold and Boa Sandersonia, are also powerful. Boa Marigold, in particular, can generate and control fire as part of her abilities. She can transform using her Devil Fruit, the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Cobra, allowing her to cover herself in flames without being harmed. She uses this fire both to attack and defend.
It will be fascinating to see the Boa sisters return in the final arc of the story. Boa Sandersonia, in particular, is expected to be much more powerful than she was before the time skip.
Momonosuke
- Fire Powers: Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu
- Affiliation: Wano
Momonosuke briefly joined the Straw Hat Pirates after the two-year timeskip. He traveled with them for a while, but ultimately returned to Wano to focus on his destiny. While in Punk Hazard, he consumed a SMILE fruit, a copy of Kaido’s Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu.
This fruit allows him to transform into an eastern dragon, just like Kaido. Similar to Kaido’s ability, it also gives him fire-based powers, such as the Boro Breath and Drum Dragon attacks. While Momonosuke is still learning and needs to grow stronger, he’s expected to become a valuable ally to Luffy in the final battle.
King
- Fire Powers: Lunarian Bloodline
- Affiliation: Beast Pirates (Formerly)
During the Wano arc of One Piece, it was revealed that King belongs to the nearly extinct Lunarian race, making him the last known member of his kind. Being a Lunarian gives King powerful abilities, such as the power to control fire.
King’s special ability creates a protective flame that makes him invincible, even to powerful fighters like Zoro. The only way to hurt him is to attack while the flame is down, making him a very challenging opponent. He can also create and intensely heat fire, even turning it into magma, and can ignite his sword or body at will. Despite his defeat in Wano, King is likely to return, as his Lunarian heritage will play a crucial role in the story’s final arc.
Seraphim
- Fire Powers: Lunarian Bloodline
- Affiliation: World Government
The Seraphim were first seen in the final saga, during the Egghead arc. It was soon discovered that they are clones of the former Warlords (Shichibukai), and have been genetically modified with the unique traits of the Lunarians. This gives them the abilities of both the Warlords and the Lunarians.
Seraphim are connected to the Lunarians and, like King, wield fire-based abilities. They have a flame on their back that, when ignited, makes them invulnerable. The only way to defeat a Seraphim is to wait for that flame to weaken. They’re expected to play a critical role in the final story arc, becoming increasingly powerful as events unfold.
Sabo
- Fire Powers: Mera Mera no Mi
- Affiliation: Revolutionary Army
Sabo is a key character in the final arc of One Piece, serving as the chief of staff for the Revolutionary Army. He’s always been a powerful fighter, as demonstrated in the Dressrosa arc, but now he’s even stronger. He’s inherited the powers of his deceased brother, Ace, and now possesses the Mera Mera no Mi, a Devil Fruit that allows him to control fire.
This powerful Devil Fruit gives Sabo the ability to generate and manipulate fire, and even turn into fire itself. Combined with his already impressive fighting skills, he’s a truly formidable opponent. He’s determined to avenge Ace, and this fruit will help him do it.

Marcus Mars
- Fire Powers Through: Yokai Powers (Itsumade)
- Affiliation: World Government, Five Elders
The Five Elders, a group of formidable villains, were first shown in the Egghead arc, which begins the Final Saga. One of them, Marcus Mars, has the power to control fire thanks to his yokai ability called the Itsumade. This ability lets him transform into a massive, legendary bird from Japanese folklore.
The Itsumade is a strong and adaptable fighter, with a particularly impressive fire-based attack. He can shoot beams of fire at his opponents. Marcus Mars is among the most powerful fire users in the Final Saga, making any battle against him incredibly difficult.
Akainu
- Fire Powers Through: Devil Fruit (Magu Magu no Mi)
- Affiliation: Marines
Akainu is currently the highest-ranking officer in the Marines, having become Fleet Admiral after a fierce battle with Kuzan. His powers aren’t actually fire-based, but rather based on magma, which he gained from eating the Magu Magu no Mi Devil Fruit.
Magma is intensely hot and causes fires, and Akainu can control it. His magma is even hotter than Ace’s fire abilities, which allowed Akainu to defeat him during the Summit War. Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, if Akainu has awakened his Devil Fruit powers, he’ll be an incredibly powerful fire user in the final part of One Piece. Right now, many believe he’s the strongest fire user in the series.
Sanji
- Fire Powers Through: Love
- Affiliation: Straw Hat Pirates
Among the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji is the most skilled user of fire-based attacks. As the story progresses in the Final Saga, he has the potential to become the strongest fire user overall. What makes Sanji unique is that his fire abilities aren’t derived from a Devil Fruit or any special weapon; they appear to come from his intense passion and emotions.
Sanji is incredibly proficient at using fire, and his strongest technique is currently called Ifrit Jambe. This ability allows him to create flames so intense they burn blue – a unique feat in the world of One Piece that demonstrates his fire is the hottest and seemingly limitless. He’s expected to become even more powerful as the story progresses in the Final Saga.
