How to Repair an Electrical Outlet in House Flipper

Players often find Amanda Johnson’s initial tasks a bit tricky. You’ll need to paint some walls and repair a few faulty electrical outlets. While painting is straightforward, fixing the outlets is where many people get held up.

How to Find and Repair Electrical Outlets in House Flipper

After you take Amanda’s job, you’ll need to paint the living room and attached kitchenette, and fix two broken electrical outlets. The tricky part isn’t the repair work itself, but locating the right outlets in the house.

Okay, so the first power outlet I need is in the kids’ room. I went inside and turned right, and there it was, right by the computer desk. But when I tried to use it, nothing happened – it’s like it’s broken or not connected to anything.

The outlet you need is located behind the bed, so you’ll have to move the bed first to find it. Once you do, you’ll be able to access the socket. You’ll know you’ve found the correct one when you see the ‘Assemble’ option appear – just click it to begin the repair.

Start by taking off the outlet cover. Once removed, you’ll see the internal parts. Then, unscrew the socket and gently pull it forward. Now, it gets a little more complicated. You’ll notice three wires inside: brown, yellow, and green.

To connect the wires correctly, plug the green wire into the center, the yellow wire into the right side, and the brown wire into the left side. The image above shows exactly how it should be done.

Once the wiring is connected, secure all the screws holding the wires in place. Then, carefully push the socket back into the wall and fasten it with screws. Lastly, reattach the cover plate and tighten the final screw to complete the repair.

The next outlet that needs fixing is in the kitchen. It’s located behind the refrigerator, so you’ll need to move the fridge to get to it. Once you’ve moved the refrigerator, you can repair this outlet using the same method as you did with the first one.
