Despite having made many enemies, Yuji hasn’t battled certain powerful sorcerers throughout the series. Fans often wonder how those fights would have gone, especially considering Yuji’s ability to directly damage someone’s soul. Thinking about these missed confrontations with the strongest opponents reveals how Yuji’s direct and forceful fighting style could have altered the story.

Yorozu

Yorozu was a powerful figure from the Heian period, skilled in manipulating matter. She could create both incredibly strong, liquid metal and protective armor, effectively turning it into weapons and defenses. Even the formidable Sukuna recognized her as a dangerous opponent during their fight.

Yuji and this other character thankfully never fought, and that’s probably a good thing considering how powerful her abilities are. While Yuji is incredibly durable, breaking through her automatic, metal defenses with just his punches would have been extremely difficult. Many fans still consider it a fascinating potential battle that never happened.

Ryu Ishigori

Ryu Ishigori is known for having the strongest cursed energy output ever seen in the series. He can even shape his hair into a cannon and fire incredibly powerful energy blasts called Granite Blasts. A true warrior, he loved the thrill of a challenging fight, which he playfully referred to as his “dessert.” Many fans consider the intense four-way battle he was involved in during the Culling Games to be one of the best fights in the entire series.

Yuta managed the situation well, but Yuji’s aggressive fighting style would have been perfect for Ryu, who was eager for a direct confrontation. However, Ryu’s incredibly powerful attacks could have overwhelmed Yuji’s defenses before he could even get close. If they had fought, it would have been a wild and chaotic battle.

Hajime Kashimo

Kashimo was a legendary and incredibly powerful warrior from the Edo period, feared for his ruthlessness. Known as the God of Lightning, he actively sought out the strongest fighters he could find. His cursed energy manifests as electricity, giving him attacks that are nearly impossible to defend against – he can deliver unavoidable lightning strikes even without using a special technique like a Domain Expansion.

That’s why Yuji fled during the Tokyo No. 2 Colony arc. Fighting Kashimo would have been incredibly dangerous, likely fatal. Yuji would have easily been injured – and knowing his determination, he would have fought to the very end. Without a way to handle Kashimo’s electricity, Yuji wouldn’t have been able to withstand his overwhelming speed and strength.

Jogo

Jogo was the most dangerous of the Disaster Spirits, capable of instantly destroying city blocks with his immense power. Unfortunately for him, he consistently battled the most powerful characters in the series, often losing to Gojo and Sukuna. Despite this, he was strong enough to easily defeat skilled sorcerers like Nanami and Naobito, even when they were exhausted from a previous fight. In fact, Jogo would have won even if everyone had been at their best.

Yuji and Jogo often found themselves in the same locations, but they never had a direct battle. While Yuji can withstand most poisons and physical attacks, the intense heat from Jogo’s powers and domain expansion would have immediately killed him.

Yuki Tsukumo

Yuki Tsukumo is an incredibly powerful sorcerer, one of only four at the Special Grade level who wields the devastating technique known as Star Rage. This ability allows her and her summoned spirit, Garuda, to become virtually weightless, delivering punches with planet-level force. She doesn’t bother with typical defenses or strengthening techniques, relying solely on raw power.

A fight between Yuji and Yuki would have been an incredible showdown. However, Yuki’s power to create black holes, combined with her strategic skills, would have given her a significant advantage over Yuji. It’s a shame we never got to see them fight, even just for practice.

Toji Fushiguro

Toji Fushiguro was born without any cursed energy, but this limitation granted him incredible physical strength and allowed him to operate unnoticed. He earned the nickname ‘Sorcerer Killer’ because he almost defeated the powerful sorcerers Gojo and Geto, and he even managed to kill the special grade curse Dagon using only a modified toy, his exceptional speed, and specialized equipment – performing at a level comparable to a fourth-grade curse.

Yuji and Toji are both incredibly athletic, but Toji has much more fighting experience and knows how to use weapons. A battle between them would be exciting to watch, especially considering Yuji relies on sensing cursed energy while Toji doesn’t have any.

Satoru Gojo

Satoru Gojo is widely considered the most powerful sorcerer of our time, thanks to his unique abilities: Limitless and the Six Eyes. He’s so strong that he could shift the world’s power dynamics, and his Infinity barrier and Void Domain make him almost unbeatable by anyone in the series – a fitting description, considering the name!

Despite being Yuji’s teacher and protector, Gojo and Yuji never actually fought, not even in practice – it would have been great to see them spar! Yuji’s attacks, even those targeting the soul, wouldn’t land on Gojo, and even at his strongest, Yuji wasn’t on Gojo’s level. Gojo completely redefined what it means to be powerful.
