Final Fantasy 14 is letting players know that its limited jobs, Blue Mage and the new Beastmaster, will have some limitations on the content they can access after the April 28th Patch 7.5 update. Specifically, these jobs won’t be able to do most Allied Society quests, so players currently working on those quests should finish them before the update.
As a huge Final Fantasy 14 fan, I’m so excited for Patch 7.5, ‘Trail to the Heavens’! It’s the last big update for the Dawntrail expansion, and it’s going to roll out in stages from April to September 2026. From what I’ve heard, it’ll kick things off with a new story arc that’ll lead right into the next expansion. We’re getting a new dungeon and trial on April 28th, plus the final part of the Vana’diel raid series. And get this – they’re making some awesome improvements to housing and dyes too! It all sounds incredible and I can’t wait to jump in.
Final Fantasy 14’s Limited Jobs Will Be More Restricted Than Before
As a big Final Fantasy 14 player, I was reading about Patch 7.5, and it sounds like they’re making some changes to how we level up Blue Mage (and soon, Beastmaster!). Basically, Limited Jobs like Blue Mage will only be able to do quests that are specifically for Limited Jobs or quests anyone can do. What this means is we won’t be able to use the ‘quest sync’ feature on Allied Society quests anymore. It’s a bit disappointing, but I understand they’re trying to balance things out since Limited Jobs are already restricted in other areas of the game like Duty Roulette and PvP.
Quest sync lets players finish quests at any level within an expansion’s range – for example, quests from the Heavensward expansion can be completed between levels 51 and 60. It’s also important to complete Allied Society quests with the same job you started them with. While the Beastmaster job isn’t currently available in Final Fantasy 14, this change by Square Enix was probably to avoid players leveling it up too fast. Therefore, besides job-specific quests and universal quests, the Beastmaster will likely gain experience by completing FATEs, defeating enemies in the world, and taming monsters to reach level 50.
More Details About FF14’s Beastmaster Will Be Revealed Soon
The release date for the Beastmaster job in the 7.5 update for Final Fantasy 14 hasn’t been announced yet. During a recent livestream, Square Enix shared some details about this new melee DPS class. The Beastmaster uses a one-handed axe and can tame beastkin like Coeurls and Behemoths, keeping up to three as companions. This allows them to tackle dungeons solo with their tamed beasts, and they’ll have access to a unique area called the Crucible of the Unbroken.
