The Magic Scythe is a unique item in Crimson Desert. While it doesn’t let you endlessly reap souls, it’s specifically designed for harvesting Rubber, a key crafting ingredient. We’ll provide more details about it below.
I was so excited to finally figure out how to get the Magic Scythe, and I found a great guide that not only shows you how to get it, but also how to use it best! Plus, it has some awesome tips for getting Rubber way faster and easier – seriously, it’s way less stressful than how I was doing it. The best part? They even showed me an infinite Rubber farm in Crimson Desert, which is a total game-changer!
To obtain the Magic Scythe, you first need to unlock Pororin by completing “The Unreachable Village,” a brief Faction Quest. You can find a guide to help you with this quest here.
How to Get the Magic Scythe in Crimson Desert
Unlock the Magic Scythe Research Task
- Head to the Poriron Research Institute at the Petalton Workshop, located on the map image above.
- Complete the “Secret Tools of Life – Pororin Research”, which will cost 500 Silver Coins.
- In order to unlock this Research Request, you must first complete Natural Harmony Research > Palmar Leaf Research > Plant Combination Research.
- You can find the prerequisites for any Pororin Research task by heading to the “Pororin Forest Guardnas” Faction Quest in Hernand.
Complete the Magic Scythe Dispatch Mission
- Head to Ross in the Howling Hill Camp and begin a Dispatch Mission.
- You need to complete the Florindale “Magic Scythe Production” Mission, which requires the following:
- x2 Members
- 2,500 Camp Weapons
- 2,500 Camp Food
- 10,000 Camp Funds
- After 4 hours, the Florindale Dispatch Mission will be completed.
- Head to your Private Storage chest located in your tent at the Howling Hill Camp, where you can now collect the Magic Scythe.
The Magic Scythe isn’t very durable – it breaks after only about 15 uses. You’ll likely need to complete this mission several times to get what you need.
How to Get Rubber in Crimson Desert
Rubber Farm Method #1
- Rubber is located on specific trees found in Beardtree Gorge, northeast of Delesyia (tagged on the map above).
- Once you locate a Rubber Tree, you can use the Magic Scythe from your Two-Handed Weapons to hit it.
- With just one clean strike, you should be able to harvest all the available Rubber from the tree.
- You can also grab Rubber by hitting the oozing nodes on the Rubber Tree with Healing Force Palm, but this needs to be repeated every 3-6 days, and is not worth it.

Rubber Farm Method #2
- Another quick way to get Rubber is through using Hides.
- Head to the Scholastone Institute and gift Hides to the various ogre NPCs, who have a small chance to reward you with Rubber once you reach +100 Trust.
Rubber Farm Method #3
- Head to Varnia in the far northeast region of the Crimson Desert.
- Head north to the Grocer’s Shop and gain +100 Trust with Khalid through Coin Purses.
- Khalid will then sell the “Seed Supply Contract – Varnia”, which can be consumed in your inventory.
- Once consumed, Kamu, the Base Camp Cultivator at Howling Hill, now sells an infinite supply of Rubber Tree Seeds
- You can now plant Rubber Trees in your camp and grow them to harvest them.
